A Tremendous Resource
This is a great book. With even the most introductory material on how each piece moves, you can literally start at the very beginning. Other reviewers will tell you all about the mate in one, mate in two, mate in three sections, and about the endgame studies, the combinations, and the game miniatures. Enough material for many years study. If you love chess, and desire greater insight into how the pieces work together, then this book is a tremendous resource.Of course, tournament players will want to know if this book is suitable for their rating level, and if it will increase their tournament results. One reviewer has said that if you're over 1300 Elo, then the book is a waste of money. Let me strongly disagree. I know of one Grandmaster who claims that this book was a significant part in their training and who also continues to solve (and re-solve) the problems daily. My own rating is 1600 USCF and I find the material very helpful in gaining greater insight and skill.Highly recommended.

Best puzzle book
Kids love it! Great contents. If the puzzle could be printed a little bigger, it would be better

Page after page of problems and games.
Full to the brim with problems (ranging from simplistic to perplexing) and games. In terms of content, there's more here than any other book re chess that I'm aware of.On the downside:1. Games are not annotated. This decreases their value as learning tools significantly.2. Some of the print is extremely small. The games and the solutions are difficult to read. Font looks to be about #9 Publisher likely concluded "1,100 pages! Enough is enough."Conclusion: If I edited out the simplistic problems such as "checkmate in one move," and took out the games, I'd still have about 600 pages of complex problems and endgames to savor. So for a player of my skill level, about half the book is useful. That's still a bargain for the price.

Good book for chess beginners
It is explicitly says in every page what is the puzzle, which makes is easier than some online websites. The puzzles are ranging from easy to hard which is very good when you want to see a progress.

Great Chess Strategy
This book has been a valuable tool for improving my chess several years ago. I was playing and analyzing games with experienced players in an Egyptian café, a space where intricate wooden screens cast dappled shadows on the boards and the air was thick with the aroma of potent coffee and the distinctive click of backgammon games. Several of us studied a wide range of strategies from this book over several cups of mint tea, often interrupted by the (lively) debates of other patrons. This book is excellent for anyone wanting to advance their chess skills.

Gifted 12 YO chess enthusiast LOVES this book
My 12 YO, gifted, autistic kiddo has turned out to be quite the chess whiz. He is at 900-1000 after playing for 4 months-ish. I gave him this book to read/solve/think about right before bed instead of electronics. The next day he thanked me profusely for the book! (Which never happens). He likes every aspect of it. He likes the chess moves problems to solve. He likes the play-by-play of famous chess games. And I think (?) it’s teaching him about famous chess players. He keeps calling it the biggest chess book ever, lol.I highly recommend this book for chess enthusiasts! It does teach the rules of chess in the very early exercises, but I’m not sure if it’s enough for a brand new player who doesn’t know anything.
