They're good with a decent sauce.
No real flavour but if you put a decent spag bol sauce on it then it works fine. And it fills you up too if you're on a very low carb diet. I've bought these a few times now.

Brill alternative to pasta
I was looking for an alternative to pasta as i use cauliflower rice for rice alternative but needed something to replace pasta and im happy iv found this. Cook as instructions, mix a bit of salt in, cover with pasta sauce, i had lean beef spag blol last night and it tastes delicious. If you want it softer i would recommend boiling it not microwave. If your looking for something with extremely low calories to taste like real pasta then its just not going to happen but this is a great compromise, i use it once or twice a week depending on what pasta meals im cooking for the family, and it helps keep my calories and carb intake low, whats not to love.

Don't buy
Disgusting, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Stinks of fish and has awful texture. AVOID

An ok substitute for rice if Keto
Useful for a keto diet. Palatable if smothered in a tasty sauce like a stir fry or curry. Smells weird though and needs a good rinse before and/or after cooking. It works but don’t expect it to taste like real rice!

Are you tired of feeling guilty every time you indulge in pasta? Well, say goodbye to those feelings
Are you tired of feeling guilty every time you indulge in pasta? Well, say goodbye to those feelings with the Eat Water Slim Pasta Penne Pack of 15!This pasta is made from gluten-free organic konjac flour, making it perfect for anyone following a keto, paleo, or vegan diet. And the best part? It's zero sugar, zero carbohydrate, and low calorie, so you can indulge in all the pasta you want without any of the guilt. But let's talk about the texture. You might be thinking that a pasta made from konjac flour couldn't possibly taste good, but let me tell you, it's surprisingly delicious. The penne shape holds sauce well, and the texture is just like regular pasta - except without all the carbs and calories. And the convenience of having 15 packs means you can have pasta ready in just minutes. No more waiting around for water to boil and pasta to cook - just heat it up and enjoy!Overall, I highly recommend the Eat Water Slim Pasta Penne Pack of 15. It's a guilt-free, delicious, and convenient way to enjoy pasta without sacrificing your diet. So go ahead, indulge in some pasta, guilt-free!

I’d rather go without - poor substitute.
Great for macros but I’d rather not eat any substitute as they don’t taste great (actually taste of nothing) and the texture is so watery and slimy. I think technology has to improve before you can make a great carb substitute.

For me, best used as a dessert rice
not sure about anyone else, but the latest batches as of 2025 have no fishy smell at all. All I do is rinse in a sieve to wash off the excess package water then place in a wide frying pan on a high heat, as per instructions. I also then leave it in the pan with the heat turned off to ensure it dries out that bit more, as is my preference. Once cool I mix half with a low carb high protein yogurt (my favourite at the moment is the Pro blueberry muffin flavour). It tastes good and the the rice has a similar texture to dessert rice. I cover the other half in a bowl and refridgerate for later use.If I was using this as a warm rice for curry, I would only cook as much as I wanted for that meal and place the rest in an airtight container in water in the fridge, ready to be prepared the next day.

weird texture
Unlike some reviewers, I didn't smell anything off-putting when I opened the pack. It was so quick and easier to prepare and looked like pasta, so I was ready to dig in. However the texture was gelatinous and strange, rather like that of the fat on a lamb chop. It was as though I was eating slugs or worms. I had to keep telling myself over and over that it was pasta to overcome my disgust and enable me to eat it. However I only got through a quarter of the meal and had to chuck the rest away. On the plus side it taught me to eat incredibly slowly and concentrate on what I was eating, and gave me a different perspective on food, maybe acting as a sort of bolognese aversion therapy.I'm not used to the texture because I've never had anything like it before, but I might give it another go in the future with the remaining packs I've got as it might just be a matter of getting used to it.
