Letter Box Cover with Brush & Flap for Internal OR External Use - Silver Finish

I received this letterbox and cannot fault anything about it whatsoever. Its a great letterbox and looks good BUT I made a mistake when I bought it to replace our one that had broken , or rather BEEN broken by a delivery driver trying to ram a parcel through and broke the flap off. My mistake was not ordering a letterbox for a UPVC front door so I got the two halves with the sleeve through the middle , as I thought I could simply put this one on the front and it was fixed. Luckily I knew someone who had mentioned they needed a new letterbox so I sold it to them and they're more than happy with it. Had I been able to use this letterbox on a UPVC door it would've looked so good and done what was required , but sadly the sleeve on the inside half of our letterbox stopped this one being flush against the door , so not the fault of the seller , totally my not considering what I actually needed , but if you have a normal wooden front door this letterbox would be the perfect replacement if yours is damaged/broken.

With the "flap" or Letter Plate to give it its proper title having came off my letterbox I sought a replacement. It never actually occurred to me that I might be able to replace the "flap" without having to replace the full Letterbox. After three false starts buying (and returning) full Letterboxes that didn't fit aperture, much head scratching and confusion by chance I happened to wander down the aisle in B&Q which had Letter Plates on display. This was my lightbulb moment and I knew it was actually this that I required.Prime ensured the plate would be available to collect next day and whilst it seemed a little odd that I couldn't order my colour of preference (for some reason a minimum order of six was required in gold) at this stage I was just relieved to have identified what I actually needed.When it came to fitting the item, I was able to replace the existing Letter Plate with this in little more than a couple of minutes. Given this is likely to be a replacement for an existing plate then assuming you purchase the same size of plate, which will have the necessary holes already in your door it should be a straight forward process. This plate comes with two screws supplied, but with holes already in the plate capable of taking four. With four screws in the existing plate I used two of them along with the new new screws for a more secure fit.It feels quite plasticy, but the spring seems good and for this price if I get a couple of years out of it I'll be quite happy.

This is a decent product however the brushes which act as draft excluders did not last long and came off too easily

Absolute rubbish and you should avoid. The screwheads snap off the actual letterbox cover is not straight.

Fits great, looks good and simple instructions with all fittings included. Tidys up the old door. Great value for money.
