phaser set to stun
if you know what a phaser does, then skip this first bit, for newbies or gift buyers read on.... a phaser is an electric 'foot' operated pedal box that you plug a guitar or other instrument into then connect to an amplifier, when activated it takes the sound in and alters the phase of the sound depending on the setting resulting in a pleasant or not (opinions and players vary) distorted sound heavily used in the 60s - 80s. for the rest :- pedals like people are not all created equal and phasers are no diferent. i have tried phasers included on multi effect pedals, with wide varying results, but even the best multi effects only allow for 1 effect at a time. single effects range from nails on a blackboard to subtle but mortgage level master in a box. I needed a good phaser at cheap price, scoured the ads and settled on this, metal body, no battery, single knob what had I done ? WELL lets see, metal body, great, no horrific cracking if used with divers boots. No battery, double edge sword, theres the inconvenience of a mains connection , but theres no battery to die mid gig. Single knob, easy to set up, adjust, mark with a sharpie done, instand reset if its disturbed and none of that knobs for volume, gain, attack, decay, tea strength, beam up/down. one knob simples. Sound :- the level of the effect is done by turning the captain proteus 1940s - 60s sci fi style knob, which is just the right amount of sensetive. tones are right on spot. on/off stomp button is crisp. This isnt a £9.99 flimsy unit that hurts the ears, neither is it a £200 symphony in a box, its a cheapish effects pedal that does its job and does it well.

Really nice pedal for DI, but not as much into an amp
Really nice pedal for DI into a audio interface, sounds great to me. I only have two issues with it, one is that it gets quite noisy past 3 o clock position on the drive knob, and seems to pick up radio signals, but you really don't have to push it past 3 o clock. If you want more gain, you can use a boost, it doesn't boost the noise like the drive knob does. The only other issue is the built-in cab sim can't be turned off, so it's not great as an overdrive pedal, which is a shame, since I believe the pedal it's based on later added a cab sim toggle. If they ever make a V2 of this pedal series, they need to include that! It would make it even more versatile and much more usable with an amp. It would mean that you could use a vst IR plugin, or you could plug it into a cabinet, or the power amp section of an amp without having the cab sim clash with the real cab. It would increase the versatility by a lot. Also, Joyo, if you're reading this, is the pedal designed to be used as an overdrive, as well as a DI? Or only DI? Because on your UK website, it doesn't really mention that you can use it like a regular overdrive pedal into a real amp, it makes it seem like you should only use it as DI, but I believe the pedal that this is based on says that you can also use it as an overdrive, because the cab sim isn't too strong. But it doesn't say this on your site.Other than that, it's great for the price, and I'm probably going to buy the American Sound too!

Wish I’d known about this sooner!
Sounds incredible and a lot of variation and control to get the perfect sound. I reckon this could quite easily make any amp sound like a Vox (minus the volume level obviously), and it’s packed into a smart, sturdy metal box. It’s a great size and incredibly versatile, and the control knobs and on/off switch make it easy to use. The on/off LED light isn’t too bright or too dim either. Brilliant pedal and a must buy. Wish I got it sooner!

Great value
Great metal pedal, A lot of sound band width put together with the drive on the amp you can hold the pedal just on the edge of feedback. Trying the pedal with a 20Watt Joyo Zombie 2 I was able to push the pedal with such a small amp very surprising hooked up to a 2x12 Laney cab

Great sounding tremolo, amazing value
If you are seeking an unfussy, solid, great sounding tremolo pedal, and don't want to break the bank, the Joyo offers all those things in a rugged, attractive package.I spent some time researching the options, and watched a few of the product comparison videos you will quickly find if you search, concluding that this was the one to try first. Now integrated into my pedal board, I find this a completely satisfying tremolo sound, and everything about the physical presentation of the pedal points to a unit that could just as easily be priced closer to the £100 mark. The pedal offers true bypass, which is an important feature for a quality pedal. When in operation, it has a nice vintage feel.Often with music equipment you get what you pay for, but there are now many absolutely credible alternatives with guitar pedals at far lower prices, so don't be tempted to think this is cheap sounding. It sounds lovely.

Ridiculously Fine Value For Money Guitar Effects Pedal
In the late seventies, when I was but a lad, I had guitar lessons from a Scots guitarist based in a suburb of Newcastle Upon Tyne. I remember he bought himself a flanger effects pedal, for the princely sum of £80! A fortune it seemed to me back then. I wonder what he'd make of the JOYO brand of guitar pedals, then? I have several of them. Blimey, I bought three for what my old guitar teacher shelled out £80 on. The Bangs you get for your buck are ridiculously plentiful though.I bought this ACTONE stompbox that mimics the sounds of a vintage Vox AC30 amplifier. I hooked it up to my Hughes and Kettner combo - on the 'Clean' amplifier setting, and set the bass, mid and treble controls to midday, plugged in my cheap Tokai 'Love Rock' cherryburst Les Paul copy, and let rip. Good Lord, this pedal is a beast. With the controls set to midday, you get a throaty Vox bite that sets you in mind of classic seventies Pub Rock. A few adjustments can have you dialing in sixties Merseybeat, and with a bit of fine tuning, you can get that spangly chime and fuzzy Beatles 'Revolver' bite. This really is a ridiculously flexible bit of kit for thirty (or so) of your English Pounds. I am so enthused, may have to buy more Amp modeller pedals in the JOYO catalogue. And I will still have change from eighty quid!
