Don't underestimate the usefulness of this massage set. Specifically, the peanut shaped one. When I first handled this set, I was worried it was so cheaply made that it wasn't going to be useful to me. It feels almost the light weight of Styrofoam, but covered with a soft bubbly coating on top. But it is perfect actually. Very soft on the skin, but you can get a bit of friction if you want. And so lightweight that it isn't tedious to hold onto and use. The peanut shaped one is ideal for rolling up your spine, with the pressure on either side of the bony projectures, and the groove in the center allows you to comfortably do this. Just the right amount of "give" to be able to comfortably lie your back on top of it on the floor. I'm someone with chronic mid and upper back pain, just below my shoulder blades, a bit of arthritis there, and this is so comfortable to lie on, to sort of splint that tension and ache, and finally get just a touch of relief in that tricky spot, when nothing else seems to be able to help me. The size is just right for the peanut shaped tool, the balls (for both that, and the single ball,) seem to be about the size of baseballs. The solitary ball, I've found, is great for rolling tension out of your facial muscles and neck. So yes- the aesthetic appeal of these is not great, but their usefulness more than makes up for that! The design is actually really great. I'm glad I got this massage set!

I was not certain how much this can be used individually, or if it mostly requires someone performing the massage on you. I did use this on my wife's back, and it offered some relief and comfort. I was able to use this on myself with limited access to my neck and back. The material is solid but comfortable with a little give. This seems like it will last, and is small enough that it does not take excessive space. I suspect to get the best results from this, you will need to have someone use this on you.
