For little money, this seems like a very nice saw.
I ordered a model 3939 and received what's marked on the box and the front of the machine as a 3939T. Mine is not a two speed saw, so I think another review that says the "T" stands for the two speed version must be mistaken. This seems very nice for so little money. It looks fine, assembling the table took half a minute without tools, and it runs smoothly and quietly with the included blade tracking just fine. I tried cutting some small scraps of wood, PVC 3/8" plate, polycarbonate 3/4" plate, 1" PTFE plate, and 1/8" silicone rubber foam. All of them cut beautifully. Then I had a big stack of large folded corrugated cardboard boxes that needed to go into the recycling can, so I started slicing these to pieces as wide as possible with this saw. I could easily feed them at walking speed and they tended to travel straight even though I was not really trying. I made about 100 feet of cut in double thickness shipping boxes.I put my shop vacuum cleaner on the port. It didn't fit well but a piece of masking tape held it just fine. There was little dust that escaped the vacuum even with all that cardboard. This is a lightweight machine. The metal parts are all pretty thin. At work we have a big massive machine shop saw that must have cost thousands, maybe even tens of thousands, and this WEN saw clearly isn't that. But I'm very impressed with how well they made it work, how well it all seems to fit together, and how appropriate it is for my home shop.

Overall very pleased with the purchase
Overall very pleased with the purchase. It works well at cutting turning rounds at slow speed. Haven't tried high gear yet.. It seems slow but I ran a 250hp band rig with 7 foot wheels in a sawmill for 7 or 8 yrs. This is a well built little saw.You can't go wrong for the money, At least not what I paid $505 including tax delivered.

Better than I expected
I read many of the reviews, and expected to have some amount of hassle setting up and tuning this little gem. Many of those posting their reviews indicated that they had a great deal of difficulty getting the saw-blade to track properly. However; since most said that, once properly set up and tuned, the saw performed quite well, I figured the get was worth the go, and ordered one. This is not a professional quality, production band saw. They make no claims to that effect, and I did not expect to find any such thing under $500. The thing to remember is that all band saws should be allowed to cut at their own rate - pushing them to cut fast will never turn out well, even with the larger professional models. This is not for fast work, but it is extremely accurate, and the cut quality is very good.It arrived yesterday: two days, just as promised. I pulled it out of the box, attached the table. Everything went together quite well. I checked the blade tracking, and it tracked perfectly right out of the box. Even the light-weight fence and miter guide work quite well. I checked them, and they square up properly without a lot of fuss. The machine came with a 1/4 inch blade. Some people said it would come with a 4 tooth per inch one, but this is closer to 8. Made a couple of test cuts on some scrap wood, and the cut was of very high quality and smooth. I tried a radius cut, and was able to easily cut a 3/4" radius. Manual says a 1/4" blade should be good for a 1/2" radius, but I am not sure I believe it (although I haven't tried). Both rips and cross-cuts yielded very good results.Today I did my first little project. I cut a couple of pieces about 1 mm too large, and was able to easily re-cut the pieces, shaving off the extra millimeter and achieving the correct specification.Couldn't be happier! This is a great value.

Nice home woodworking 14” saw
I’ve been using this saw for about a month now and have made sone observations This saw compairs to saws twice the price. First it’s a 14” saw which gives you great capability. The stand is part of the base and works good, I put mine on Portamate PM-2500 base and I love it. The saw went together easily, table was flat and level to the blade which surprised me. Fence is perfectly usable. I put on good quality blade sold on Amazon too. The one big issue is the guides. My lower guide mount was crooked and and I had put a washer under the left mounting bolt to straighten it up. Adjustment was fairly easy. The guide housing is poorly cast and not perfectly square which makes fine tuning the bearings harder than it needs to be. But I when I got everything setup correctly it cuts like a dream. It is quite and is vibration free, will pass the nickel on the edge test. I didn’t bother with the original blade, just get a high quality blade up front and save the trouble. There are a lot of reviews here covering all the different Wen bandsaws and you can’t tell which one people are talking about so if they don’t specify 14” then the are talking about the 10” which is a totally different machine.

Cuts like butter
I bought it for my stepfather so I can't really comment too much on it other than to say he loves how smoothly it cuts thru wood and the ability to make nice curved cuts. He's been really getting into woodworking the past few years and this addition has really helped him increase the variety and number of things he can make.

Nice
Its nice, except the damn right bearing is not wanting to shift over enough so I had to stick a little piece of metal in there to keep it shifted over. Also the fence SUCKS on this. That being said for my first band saw I sure do like it still. I'd recommend if u need a smaller and cheaper one. If ur willing to pay a little extra I'd go with the Rikon 10-306. Its there new one with upgraded fence and tool free bearing adjustments. Very well build and will cost about $500 from Lee Valley. Right now on amazon, it is way to much money so check local places around you. Make sure it's the 10-306 and not the 10-305. The 305 is the old version and it's pretty much like this wen. Type in Rikon 10-306 in youtube and look at there comparisons from the 305 to the 306.
