Q: Have a hose for propane cylinders and need a coupling for tank to male, does the male end open the valve on the hose?

This has a male threaded end that usually goes into the regulator . the hose will probably have a male end also. when it goes onto the tank it does open the check valve on the tank.

Q: How many btu/hr is this rated? i need one with flow of 152,000 or greater for a generator.

This QCC1 atapter is rated about 70000 btu.

Q: Do you attach the valve to the gas hose with ring clamp or some other clamp?

Sure, it's hooked up to a hose barb at one end.

Q: Is there a check valve in the brass section? or is there a straight through hole from the npt end to the qcc1/type1 end?

No check valve, just straight thru adapter.
