Lucky Bums Kid's Fishing and Adventure Vest

I bought two of these about 5 years ago, and I can't believe I never reviewed them. What a great item these have been.I have two girls that love to fish and hike. So, I got two and when I ordered them, I bought the large size since I wanted to get many years of wear out of them. My girls are now 9 and 7, and these vests still fit well. For perspective, the 9 year old is about 5 feet tall. The description says these are meant for ages 3 to 6, but my girls are still wearing theirs. The thing about fishing vests is that they are designed to fit a little short on the body. Granted, when we bought them, they were way to long, but that doesn't really inhibit any use.A good fishing vest is a fabulous tool, and these have all the criteria. Lots of pockets, easy enclosures and light weight. Material and construction is top quality and comparable to vests I have owned as an adult, and that I paid many more dollars for. The material is not overly heavy, so plenty comfortable to wear. They have made it though the washing machine several times and still look great.Lastly, a bit of a tradition we have is to purchase patches from wherever we go on vacation. The back of these vests is where my girls have their patches. At this point, they each have a dozen or more patches on the back, with room for more. This will probably be the last summer for these vests due to outgrowing, but I suspect we will leave their patches on these vests and they will become "keepsakes". We will get new vests next year and start with new patches on those.

Very well made. Lots of pockets with zippers and magnetic closures for outdoor adventures. This vest does not come past the waist - more similar to some fly fishing vests. I bought size boys small for an 8 year old and length will be perfect but width a little loose - but not enough to be a problem. I am very pleased with the quality. This is the second time I have purchased this item.

Fit my granson perfect and looks great. Cool and light weight. Good quality.

My daughter has been using this for hiking for a year now. Holds compass, rocks, leaves, acorns, geocaching items...you know, the essentials. She's 8 and is wearing the large. We live in warm weather and it's not too heavy, holds all her stuff and most importantly it's PINK!

Much bigger than expected. Bought it for my 9yr old who LOVES to go fishing, she wanted a fishing vest, I should have went a size smaller because she likes it but doesnt wear it often because of the size. She fills the pockets and stuffs the vest into her backpack to go fishing

Easter gift

Very cute fishing vest. My daughter would not wear an "official" vest and insisted on a pink one. I found this and ordered a large, she is a small 12-year-old. It fits nicely, and I believe it will for a couple years. Nicely made, above average quality.

It is very cute, and she will get alot of use out of it for fishing, hiking, camping. It runs small, so the large we got our granddaughter will probably only be able to be used this year. However they are going to have a baby and if its a girl that will work out fine.
