Celala Deodorant Bottle Trap Bathroom Sink Tap Waste Pipe Round Chrome Adjustable Outlet

In usual Amazon style the reviews for several products are grouped togetherSifting through the reviews for the bottle trap, I was a little worried given there are some quite negative reviews. As it's cheap, I thought I'd order one and try anyway.Upon opening the box I was pleasantly suprised, it's quite weighty and looked well made.First job was to measure the outlet pipe as several comments said it doesn't mate up to existing waste. I measured with a micrometer between 30.9 and 31.6. My existing pipework was 32mm solvent weld which has an internal diameter of 32mm and an external diameter of about 36mm. So it would fit neatly into my existing pipework.I suspect those that complain it doesn't fit have push fit 32mm pipe which has a smaller internal diameter, typically 30-31mm(34-35mm external) . In this case it may not slide into existing pipework. So measure your existing pipework first.As the inlet of this is also adjustable it needs to be trimmed down to suit. If you don't trim it down, the bottom of the inlet pipe will be touching the little plastic cup on the inside of the trap. This then effectively forms a bung that'll stop the water draining properly. I see there is one review stating their sink doesn't drain properly since fitting this, I guess they haven't cut the pipe down.So once trimmed it was a doddle to assemble, works just fine and looks so much better than the awful plastic thing it replaced.Note to sellers, the negative reviews could probably be resolved if there were some instructions in the box.

The product is of good quality and looks very stylish when installed. The only thing it could benefit from is instructions as then I could have installed it myself whereas I decided to go with a local plumber to ensure it was done correctly. The supplied chrome outlet pipe does slide into a standard plastic outlet pipe with a nice tight fit although our plumber did use some mastic as initially it had a slight leak.

Good workmanship and nice and compact not like most bottle traps bulky and take and take up a lot of space in basin cabinet.Good fit although I had to make some slight modification to the way I fitted it to the waste to get it to seal without leaking and the chrome outlet was not used as I had to reposition the outlet and used a flexible extension to make it fit my waste pipe.ALL in all a good and well designed bottle trap

Bought to replace a previous trap which had started to discolour. This item is of a decent quality and was cheaper than others similar, so good value. Simple to fit.

Bought this to replace the existing waste pipe set - complete waste (apologies for the pun) of money. Could not fit properly with the existing pipework and basin outlet - leaks from everywhere. if I could give it 0 stars I would.Obviously, as I tried to install it, I can't return it, so the money's gone ...

Pros: Attractive and seems good quality.Cons: Design flaws:The outlet pipe is too small diameter to fit normal UK plastic waste pipe connectors. I bodged this with some electrical tape to increase the diameter so it would fit into my 32mm compression elbow without leaking.Because of the narrow pipe diameter the flow rate is quite low and the design of the trap means that it clogs very quickly. Fortunately the bottom unscrews very easily and there is a little cup that can be removed to empty out the gunk that has accumulated. I need to do this every month or so - even a small amount of hair or soap scum is enough to block it. (My previous trap was similar design but bigger diameter and went years without needing to be unclogged.)

I used it for cloakroom basin.Great value for money, easy to install.Looks great.Would recommend it to everyone.Cheers guys

Good quality and looks miles better than the plastic one on the previous sink. The metal pipe fitted tightly inside a plastic 32mm pipe bought from toolstation. Used a bit of self amalgamating tape to make sure, but I'd have been surprised if it had leaked considering it's not under pressure and on a downward slope going into a larger tube.
