Cat INV2000 Inverter Generator, Yellow and Black

We got two of these, and the parallel kit to prepare for Dorian. Thanksfully we didn't need them. Isiais however was a direct hit here in Wilmington, NC.After the storm passed I set these up at 3am and they fired up on 1st or 2nd pull. We used them to setup a "lifeboat room", with a window unit A/C and all of our electronics and some lamps. We also powered a full size kitchen fridge, a medium sized freezer and a small beer fridge.I set them up at 3am, and did not have to put gas into them again until 1:30pm. Power came back at 10pm and there was still plenty of gas left. So we used less than 4 gallons total, in 20 hours.Oil change is also very well thought out, with a funnel that screws into the fill spout to make it wasy to drain and refill without getting oil everywhere.Overall I'm very happy.-----Update------I still love the Cat units.However, I picked up a Wen 56200i, and discovered that it has the exact same engine. It is also the same as the engine used in the Predator 2000w unit. In fact, the internals appear almost identical throughout. Frame, Carb, Air Box, Fuel Tank, Feet, Wiring. The motor is the Rato R80-i. The only decernable difference is that the Cat case is higher quality, has a longer runtime, and is rated for 200 more watts. I think that indicates that it has a more efficient inverter connected to it, and maybe a smarter economy mode.I figured I would add that to the review. If you are buying this unit, then do it for the 200 extra watts, customer service, and higher case quality. Not because you want a Cat engine.

Use the generator for my ice house and it powers a waist high fridge, lights, heater, tv, and other electronics in below freezing temperatures with no issue. I know Honda is the gold standard when it comes to these type of generators but this is comparable for 3-400 dollars cheaper. It makes the same amount of noise as the Honda and weighs about the same. Ran it for 16-18 hours straight with no issues other than having to refuel it. Validate the serial number and receipt with CAT and you get the 3 year warranty.

This generator seems to be very well built. I bought for use primarily in construction and needed the GFCI outlets. I have used the Honda Inverter in the past and this seems to be built to the same quality level. The only difference is that this generator is marginally louder but I consider it to be well worth it given that it costs so much less and comes with a 3 year warranty.

Well constructed - a bit larger than our Honda’s but I believe it is actually quieter than the Honda side-by-side.Some of the operational and maintenance items are better than the Honda, but will need to get some hours on it to determine durability.

Very fine machine highly recommended over Honda. Made all my family embarrassed at our family reunion they bought high priced Honda.

Works great

Does not have 2000 watts of power, it will not run larger power tools, spend the extra 200 and get the Honda, the best generator out there.

Misfire after several uses. This is actually a Harbor freight Predator2000 in CAT skin. Didn’t realize this until after watching YouTube about the Predator 2000 generator. On one of the videos they take the service cover off the harbor freight generator and it literally has the same engine as the INV2000. So CAT doesn’t make this

Cette génératrice est parfaite. INV 2000 Il ne faut pas s'attendre a avoir quelque chose de petit et léger. Ce n'est pas une 1000. Très silencieuse, démarre en 2 coups. Je l'aime.

Excellent product. Meets all expectations. A little heavy to carry but otherwise I highly recommend this product.

Very quiet

Put oil and gas in it and it started first pull I could not believe it I would recommend this CAT inverter generator to any one I think its quieter than a Honda
