Very effective
I recently discovered a wasps’ nest suspended from the top of the door frame of my shed. It was growing rapidly and I could no longer safely enter the shed because there were so many wasps. Initially, I thought I would have to call out the council but their pest control service was suspended due to Covid restrictions. In any case, their charge was £75, and I was anxious that this could be a recurring problem as I have created a garden that is attractive to insects. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and, after a lot of reading about different products, bought this powder, along with a boiler suit, beekeeper gloves and a hat with insect proof netting to protect myself in case I ended up being attacked by a swarm of wasps. This all came to less than the cost of the council call-out (and I will be able to use the clothing for other purposes, such as pruning my roses). I donned all of the protective gear and tentatively approached the wasps nest during the evening when it was raining. Because it was late and raining, I assume all the wasps were in the nest as there was no visible wasp activity at all. I squeezed the bottle several times to release a puff of powder into the wasp entrance and, to my relief, didn’t see a single wasp. Two days later, I opened the shed to again find no wasp activity but several wasps lay dead on the floor. I can therefore vouch that this powder definitely works and is a much cheaper option than using a pest control service! I’m just amazed that I was so worried about the whole thing as dealing with the problem turned out to be so straightforward.

Brilliant Stuff
I’d tried to attack the nest at night once they had all got in for the night by putting the hosepipe down on full flow thinking I’d drown them. I them plugged the hole with a plant dibber to seal the single hole off. I went off to bed feeling a bit sorry for the colony thinking about the gushing water flooding the nest. The next morning I looked at the hole only to find the nest had survived and the little blighters had dug another hole to the side of the dibber and it was business as usual.I had to resort to a killer powder which I bought from Amazon. It arrived and the same night I went out in the half light but they were still coming and going. I waited until it was pitch black and needed a torch. When I went and looked down the hole 3 soldiers were looking back at me. Very sinister looking ready for invaders. I positioned the cloths prop to hook out the dibber and immediately about 20 soldiers appeared, not flying just responding to the slight movement of the dibber. They looked menacing but as they didn’t try to fly I decided to go for it and attack. I hooked the dibber completely out and came in with the puffer insecticide which I’d practiced earlier (recommended) to make sure I got a good discharge. Whoosh and they were covered in white powder they didn’t try to fly but we’re obviously in distress. Two more good puff right down the hole and I was off in the dark to bed.The next morning there was not a sign of them, not even dead ones where I’d left them the night before. Who cleared up the carnage??The photo is of the hole showing the dibber hole and the new hole created by the wasps following my drowning attempt. This stuff is the business !!!

Effective but very difficult to apply
As mentioned in the questions for this product, there is an issue with successfully applying this product (powder) to a wasp nest with a vertical entrance. In my case, as is common with many wasp nests, the entrance to the nest was at the bottom. To be successful, powder had to be applied vertically upwards. Squeezing the bottle did not release enough powder to be effective. For the same reason I doubt a "bulb duster" would work.In the end I had to gouge out a larger hole and try to lob the bottle in the direction of the nest entrance (not actually letting go of course!). This worked but resulted in a lot of wasted powder falling on the ground. The powder itself appears to be quite effective at killing the common wasp.

Works well
Used this to tackle a ground wasps nest having used two other treatments without success. I puffed this powder down the entrance late at night and there was no response from the wasps. The next morning there were about a dozen wasps still flying about and over the course of the next two days this number decreased until there was absolutely no activity at the nest. Very impressed with this product it does kill them and is an easy way to eradicate these pests.

Maybe OK for some
Fully togged up in protective gear I went out as the sun was setting to tackle a wasp problem where they were entering under the soffit board (protruding horizontally above the wall) via the slight gaps between bricks about 8-10 feet up. Climbing up the stepladder I shook the container vigorously and then squeezed - a vague slight puff of powder and a few thick spots spattered the wall below the area I was aiming at, and repeated attempts produced the same result. The problem was that because I was under the soffit I had to hold the container at a slight upright angle, even horizontal was impossible, and it just doesn't work. If you can point it down, fine, but otherwise maybe you could put some powder in a pressurised sprayer. There was little reaction from the wasps as I was attempting to apply the powder. 24 hours later, no obvious effect. Since I had workmen in who needed to work in that area I had to call in the local pest control who solved the problem very quickly and efficiently - he was here within an hour. With more time available I might have persisted, but honestly next time I'll just get pest control in. (If you do, avoid the national firms who are expensive and in my experience wildly incompetent and unreliable - and sometimes masquerade as local by using a local number but then you get sneakily transferred to their national office - but you only become aware well into the call, if ever.)
