Nikon BAA230AA HG L 8x20 DCF Binoculars,Black

Whilst looking for pocket binoculars I was bewildered by the scope of offerings from many manufacturers. I read reviews on many and narrowed my choice down to a hand-full. I read and re-read the reviews and couldn't make up my mind. So I bit the bullet and bought these from Amazon.My impressions.Pros: Fantastic clear image, from edge to edge. Field of view might be a bit narrow but I feel the flat image negates this somewhat.Feels sturdy in the hand. Not too heavy, but with substance.Fold-able hinge. some of the reviews have mentioned the hinge design as a negative. I find that once set they stay in position until you fold them up.Value for money. I suppose this depends on the price you get them for. I managed to get them for 330 pounds here on Amazon, the cheapest I could find in the UK. I honestly don't think i could have got more 'bang for my buck'.Cons: The case is not up to much. Soft leather and the bins don't fit very well. As an aside the Bins are made in Japan whilst the case is made in China. Make of that what you will.The strap seems to short for me.That's it for the cons.A final word on buying 10x over 8x in this form factor. I don't find shake to be a problem and as I have stated the image is bright and clear, even in woodland on a overcast day.The proof of the pudding is in the eating so with hindsight would I buy the same again given the choice today. Yes, without hesitation.

These binoculars are superb, compared them to a pair of Leica trinovid, optically on par, bright and clear image, eye cups slightly larger so more comfortable. These Nikon's are water and fog proof, with a ten year warranty Grab a pair you will not be disappointed.

Fantabbydozy........I can see the eyelashes on a female sparrow - the clarity is superb and I wear glasses for distance but not with this quality I am so glad I went the distance for something more, they always say you get what you pay for, and with these binoculars it's true!

Bought these for my husband as a special gift and was so disappointed that it turned out they were faulty. After trying them my husband thought they were not correct(not his first pair of binoculars). Contacted Nikon who had us leaping through hoops despite the ten years warrenty and the fact they were brand new. Amazon came to the rescue. My husband thinks the replacement binos are great. I think Amazon is superb. And this will be the last ever Nikon product that I buy as their after care was horrid!

Recently lost my trusted Opticron BGA iMagic which I used for many happy years,Tried a number of other makes around the same price but ultimately decided that for quality at the price these couldn't be beaten.Great quality binoculars producing a bright, sharp focus.Although the range at 1000ft is a bit narrow the clarity easily compensates. Construction overall is excellent, but quality of the lens caps, thin rigid plastic that are loose on the eye cups and cheap thin leather case let the package down at this price.Replaced the case with a Lowe Dashpoint 20 after found that the Nikon case opened by itself the first time I used it.Bought from Amazon Spain and a lot cheaper even allowing for the postage. Nikon confirmed warrantee is Europe wide so not an issue.

I wanted some top quality binoculars that I could just put in a bag a not take up too much space. After reading comparative reviews, it came down to the Leicas or these. I bought these and have not regretted it. Very well made and compact, the quality of the optics makes up a lot for the size and they can compare favourably to many larger bins. Highly recommended.

The optical quality is everything I would expect from Nikon.They are a lovely compact pair of Binoculars.Highly recommended.

Utterly superb compact binoculars, and much cheaper with crisper images compared to their overpriced German cousins....
