Excellent Tamiya Model Kit, Alpine A110.
Usual excellent Tamiya quality model kit. This is the best Tamiya kit I have had the pleasure of working on so far, the detail is second to none at this scale. This kit is not for the impatient or beginers, the price refects the amount of parts and the quality. The body comes moulded in a blue metalic plastic, however I would advise painting it for a far better finish. Decals are very good and do not tare easily. I have added pictures of the finished model, the wheels are my own fault for trying to dirty them up a wee bit, I may need to repaint these. This kit can be super fidly with tiny parts, read instructions well understand and take your time.

a good kit of a great car
A good model of the car, a bit tricky to build due to some metal sticker details in the kit which can be fiddly to attach, in fact I replaced the ones for the front intakes as I just could get them to stick. It takes a bit of force to fit the body of the car over the wheels. I don't understand why Tamiya didn't supply a fully moulded exhaust either as the top shows when it is assembled and I should have filled it before gluing it on. I was also a bit disappointed with the decals as on some of mine the black ink had bled through to the other colours you had to look closely to see this but it's the first time I've ever had any issues with Tamiya decals. At time of writing this is going for a crazy price, I was lucky and bought mine for under £20 from a well known auction site, unless you really want this kit I don't think there is enough in it to justify the high prices asked for it at the moment. As an aside there is a short french film on you tube all about the 1971 Monte Carlo rally that this car won to give you an idea of this great car in action. I've added a few pictures of my efforts.
