I bought one of these some time ago to use to store bird food after rats had bitten through my plastic bin. I also got fed up with finding slugs in the bin. I've now bought a second one as I've been so pleased with my first purchase. This is a good, sturdy bin for the price and survives the elements well. The locking lid is brilliant and I can now store big sacks of seeds and sunflower hearts safely. Rat and slug proof!

A perfect fitting lid with extra security to close the lid and keep it In Place if you choose to use it for storing Animsl food etcIt's so good a ordered a second bin .Super quick delivery with no damaged boxes or items.

Great bins for chicken feed. Each bin comfortably hold over 2 bags of mixed corn or layers pellets (20kg bags). Our previous bins were plastic and worked fine until the squirrels leaned how to pop the handles and lift the lids ... and if the handles were tied together then they just ate through the plastic lid (see picture).The metal bins have defeated the critters so far and I am pretty optimistic that it will remain that way.The bins are not the really heavy duty ones that the bin men used to empty by banging them against the lorry... these bins would just become very dented/broken if used like that, but are robust enough to hold 40kg and be lifted by the side handles (the sides of the bin just flex a little). The side handles are approx 7mm diameter so are pretty sturdy, but with 40kg inside they start to get a bit uncomfortable if held for too long without using gloves. They are a lot better than the thin style handles that have a narrow lifting edge (like the handle on the lid but side on).The side handles are riveted on and seem strong enough for a 40kg load. I'd be worried about lifting the bin by the handles if it was full to the brim with sand... I suspect that the rivets would pop or the bin may become distorted.The clips that hold the lid in place are easy enough to use without it being irritating. The wire is pretty thin (appox 1.8mm), but seems adequate for the task in hand. The wire clips should be removable with a pair of pliers if so desired. The lid came quite loose fitting, which makes it easy to remove and replace, especially since the clips can be lightly latched upwards (see picture). Note that the top of the bin can quite easily be distorted which allows a snugger fitting, or if accidentally distorted, need to be rounded back to shape (I would prefer a more rigid/stronger lip). I would be a bit worried about loosing the bin lid on a windy day without the clips and a loose lid. With how the clips work, the bin lid can be easily removed one handed.The bin can be lifted by the lid handle with about 5-10kg of content... the clips seem to be strong enough for that..One of the bins was "delivered" by dropping it over a 6' gate and had a big of a dent in the side, however it popped back out without leaving a crease when pushed out from the inside.The bins have a clean design, are slightly tapered, are not deeply corrugated and look quite tidy sitting on the patio.Due to the tapering, empty bins can also be stacked quite deeply for storage if desired.

Great product 👌 we use the bin for our bird food and the squirrels can't open it. Highly recommend.

Our wild bird food has been stored in large plastic tubs in an open shed for years. This year holes appeared in the lids and the food was being stolen. Despite having bricks on top the thefts continued and a wildlife camera revealed a squirrel to be the culprit.This dustbin proved to be a gamechanger as the lid has two clips which go over the handles to secure it. Plenty of room for storage and squirrel defeated.

Once you get one of these there's no going back. Outstanding! Its big, but not too big, its sturdy, but not too heavy and it has a lockable lid, which means my Cats (Atilla) days of raiding the bins are over.

Arrived on time but heavily dented on all sides. Annoying but bashed them out with hammer and it still does the job of storing fire ash outdoors.Looks weren't important for me but if they are for you. it will probably be dented as packaging was just a thin cardboard box and no padding.
