These bags are great for sealing the freshness of food. Using a manual pump (I hate having to have batteries or an electrical cord for everything) freshness is locked in.I use this mainly for cheese since I often don't eat it fast enough. Fruits and veggies do great. And they help reduce freezer burn.What a great investment to have when you don't like throwing bad food away.

Serious bag, got hooked on vacu-seal from ziplock, but they are discontinued. This is a great replacement. Heavy duty, seals so we’ll sometimes it’s difficult open when frozen. Perfect for sou vee. Works best when using a manual vacuum pump as opposed to the electric kind.

work just as advertised. Edited- I've used these bags for over a month now and I'm really impressed. They seal so well, and even after 3 weeks in the fridge, the food is as fresh as when I sealed it. Even after opening and resealing it several times. I wash them with a drop of Dawn and hot water, rinse and hand dry them , and use them over and over again. These bags are tough.

When we first got these, we were very happy with them. We really like the way they seal when we use them. We actually use them more than we use our big sealing machine. However, we find it once they’re sealed they can be very difficult to open. There is not much plastic to grab above the sealed line and a couple of them have torn when we try to open them. That seal is great for the food while it’s frozen but is a little costly if more tear. We have used other brands and the little circle where the air is taken out came off after a few uses even though we washed them by hand, and that has not happened at all with these new ones. Overall, we like them very much & will continue to buy them, but it would be great if the manufacturer could figure out a way to give us a little bit more plastic above the seal to help open.
