The furnace
I think that this furnace is a great way to get started with the melting hobby. It runs flawlessly through whatever melting I did for the first time use.( About 10 lbs of aluminum) I melted sodacans, and some other odds and ends with this little thing and it was up to the task. It's not a high end furnace but it definitely is great for what I'm doing. Couldn't have been more happy with the results.

Build quality is... lack luster at best. I had to fix pinholes in the welds on the gas delivery tube, immediately stripped one of the bolts that holds the burner in place, and had to weld tabs to keep the lid in place, but that's all pretty minor. It's certianly easier to order this one than to build your own, but what do you expect from something at this price point? Size is decent, it functions well, and the insulation is pretty good. The crucible it comes with isn't the greatest, but it's technically a consumable anyway. It comes with PPE, BUT you're better off going to your local welding supply store and buing better quality gloves and a face-shield, for saftey's sake. If you're just looking to get into metal casting, or don't have the room to really store your equipment, it's great for a back-yard do-it-yourselfer. Just be mindful of gas leaks. Gaffe tape probably could have fixed it, or even JB weld, but it needed a final QC either way.

Did not work right out the box
It did not work right when I got it. Tried everything to see if I'm doing something wrong but it just didn't work for. It was not a previously returned item, it was brand new sealed. Very disappointing.

At first I thought the torch was leaking, it was just user error.But what was not user error was the ceramic fabric falling off as I was taking the lid off.Crucible, tongs, hose all good condition. Furnace itself seems cheap.You get what you pay for I guess
