PuraFlame Western 26" Electric Fireplace Insert with Trim Kit, Fire Crackling Sound, Resin Log, Remote Control, 750/1500W Heater, Black

The media could not be loaded. We had a ventless gas fireplace that was over 20 years old and making our windows dirty with a gray film. Enough.I started looking for electric fireplaces with heat that might fit the insert opening, and came across this Puraflame unit. It had great reviews and fit the opening!It came a week earlier than expected and was packaged incredibly well. After removing the old gas unit and capping the line, this Puraflame slid right in. I only had to add some 3/4” blocking on the bottom to fill a small gap, and covered that with a black painted strip of wood molding. Looks like it was made for the old fireplace cabinet. There was already an electric outlet inside the cabinet, so it was just plug and play.So, this thing is never going to fool anyone, but it really adds a nice feel and look to the room. It’s truly well made and thought out. Solid quality feel. The fake logs aren’t the most realistic, but the lighting effects help hide that. The flames are totally silent, and we don’t care for the fake crackling effects. In the video, you can hear the heater running. It’s pleasantly quiet, and puts out enough heat to stand in front of and warm you right up.This thing is lots of bang for the buck, and we’re happy we chose it.

We have a wood fireplace that we do not want to use, and I wanted something in it that made it less ugly. This definitely did the job. The details on the product page really helped me to know that I was ordering something that would fit, and it fit perfectly. We also have solar panels that rack up a lot of credit on our electric bill in the summer so I intend to use the electric heat on this fireplace to help supplement the gas heat in the winter and potentially lower our gas bill. We'll see how well that works, but in the meantime I'm really glad that we got something that looks natural in the fireplace.The fake flame isn't amazing, but hey, it's better than an empty fireplace. I can't complain too much.I saw other reviews that the "three" flame settings was really only two, and that two of them were not distinguishable. I do not agree with those reviews. The highest setting includes yellow, red/orange, and blue flame. The middle setting takes the blue flame away and leaves the yellow and red/orange. The lowest setting dims the flame considerably and is more noticeable, but still, I would say there are definitely three settings. I currently prefer the middle setting.Anyway, we'll see how it heats in the winter, but for now I'm pretty pleased with the aesthetics that it adds to the living space. Oh, and if anyone is interested, it draws 7Watts when just using the LED flame and no heat. That was something I was particularly curious about, as I do not want to pay too much money for a fancy light to be on. I think 7 Watts is perfectly reasonable.

The cost and features relative to the big name brand (rhymes with implex) for electric fireplace inserts is outstanding. To get a brick background, two crackling sounds (one slow and one faster "burning" with high, med, low volume for each) and remote control would cost two to three times as much. The heater on high is great to stand in front of and warm your backside. The blower is very quiet. There are no unwanted or unexpected noises from any of the mechanical parts. The flames (I like that it has high and low settings) look very good and the overall effect of the glowing logs and flames is very good. Measurements listed on amazon are accurate for the 33" x 21". I recommend drawing out the trapezoid footprint on cardboard and inserting the template in your existing enclosure to check the fit before ordering to save any surprises. It's hard to visualize what you might run into otherwise. I inserted mine directly into an older (installed in '95) vented Heatilat0r gas fireplace after removing the glass doors, gas burner and closing the damper. I did have to trim 1/8" from the top side of the existing sheet metal trim to widen the height of the opening (I knew I would) but the trim on the Puraflame more than covers that up. Oh and be sure to open the control panel on the front right and flip the switch to ON. I felt silly after pointing the remote at it from a dozen angles trying to get it to turn on, ;-b After the attached picture was taken I moved the existing outlet box to the inside (top left corner) of the fire box to hide it and the power cord.

Bought a house and it had this terrible wood burning fireplace that i would never have use for as I live in Tx. Replaced it with the 33" model and refaced the rest. I AM TRULY OBSESSED. The sound is great. The visuals are great. The size is perfect. Alot of the more modern ones just look like TVs so this is def a more realistic fire flame.

So incredibly happy with this insert! I’ve had a non-functioning wood burning fireplace for 7 years and finally decided to go electric. I had previously purchased one on Wayfair and when it arrived I just absolutely hated it. The flame looked fake, it was so orange and cheap looking. I returned it and promptly ordered this one instead. Could not believe how amazing it is for the price! The flames look as real as they can get for an electric fireplace and the unit itself is solid and great looking. I’ve been running it every night since I got it and so happy with it! The crackling sounds are a nice bonus but a bit fake sounding on their own. But with the tv or music going it is the perfect compliment. Would highly recommend this unit - absolutely no complaints!

Pros:El tamaño es ideal, tiene un control remoto que facilita el uso, varias velocidades, yo lo instale un área techada en el exterior y sorprendente mente calienta el área muy bien. facil instalación y manejo. Se ve muy real aun estando cerca , no se calienta al tacto lo cual es seguro para los niños.Contra:Ninguno visible hasta ahora.

I was getting my home ready for winter here in Canada. I had replaced a wall heater, and ordered a part I needed for my bowler but there was one thing missing. My electric heater fire place in my living room had stopped working. This was is great not only dose it look awesome, has several different flame settings but it also has ambient sound! That's right you can select the fire crackling sound you want it to have. The built in heater I have not had the chance to really try it out yet. Winters here get very cold, and all I'm expecting it to do is give me one more source of heat to my living, and dinning area. It was also packaged very well. I literally only installed it last night but it looks awesome!

The electric insert was easy to install and finished product has realistic appearance. Various settings and sounds affects are a nice touch.
