Unbelievable product at a fantastic price
I have used Amazon many times over the last few years and I have never written a review before but I always rely on the reviews of others (naughty me!) So this is my first review and as I never usually write them there must be a great reason for doing so, which brings me onto the axe. It has a good grip, feels very solid and is comfortable in your hand. There is a cover for the blade, which is very sharp (the old dear slightly nicked her hand as she took the cover off so be careful). It is ideal for cutting kindling wood for the fire. It is an amazing piece of kit and as you can tell I highly recommend it. But what is more astonishing is the price - £6.54 including free postage! The nearest price I could find elsewhere on the internet was between £10-£15 inc postage, so grab yourselves a bargain. And before you ask, no I am not on commission. I work as teacher and love my wood burner! So I am now no longer an Amazon Reviewer Virgin.

Good axe, but blunt.
It's a good solid little hatchet. Unlike others mine was delivered completely blunt. If you don't have a course grit sharpening stone you're going to be on a while sharpening the damn thing like me. Can't complain too much for less than £13.

Worth the money
Much better than my previous axe which had a wooden handle, this one is slightly heavier with a sharper blade and chopped logs much easier.10/10Also liked the black grip on the handle.

Good sharp small axe, strong and well balanced.
This hand axe arrived promptly. I used it almost immediately to chop a fair amount of wood and cut down a small dead tree. I managed to cut my finger while cleaning it, because the blade, even after all this use, was still razor sharp and sliced neatly and easily through four folds of cleaning cloth - take care when cleaning as the blade is very good indeed. The weighting is such that even with my small wrists I feel safe using it without risk of missing my mark, and it bites into wood very well. Because it is so sharp, it doesn't bounce away from the mark. The grip stays grippy even when damp. The supplied cover is tricky to put on and take off, but it does the job of rendering the blade safe and it looks smart. Everything about this axe is sturdy and well made. I am so pleased I bought it.

Ok
Very cheap however I feel that the head is too light and the shaft is too short to effectively cut through even small trees in about 10 minutes. The first tree I cut through (which was rather small with a thin trunk (4-5 inches)) took about 10 minutes of ferocious hacking and resulted in a really nasty blister so you may want to avoid large trees or wear some kind of gloves.All-in-all a cheap but small axe. Also you may want purchase some kind of item to sharpen/get rid of chips in the blade which occur from time-to-time.

Great little axe
Love this little axe, it is well balanced and arrived with quite a sharp edge to it. I used it to chop small logs down into kindling as well as some soft wood. I appreciate that it comes with a sheath to avoid cutting your self and to protect the cutting edge. This little axe is proving perfect for what I will be using it for, cutting wood down to use in my camping stove.
