Pros: The test is easy to take. Prick your finger, collect some blood, send it in via FedEx at no cost. Even for the squeamish it's simple. You get your results the next business day, and the results are more accurate than the OraQuick test.Cons: The number to register your test and get your results used to be 24/7 and automated. I greatly preferred this, but now they make you talk to a person which is awkward and uncomfortable. It defeats the entire purpose of an anonymous at-home test.Overall, I recommend this product if you want to be 100% sure of your results without going to a doctor. But personally I'll probably stick to the OraQuick test, which is nearly as accurate, over in 20 minutes, and free of pesky human interaction.

To second the first reviewer's opinion, taking an HIV test is never easy. I've had several in my life time, when I found out I was pregnant, when I gave birth, when my gyn saw my tattoos, when I give blood. But, no matter how many you take, it's never an easy thing. Regardless of what you think the results will be.I didn't want to go into a clinic and wait there. I didn't want to talk to my doctor. I just wanted to take the test. I saw this test at Walgreens when I was picking up something else. I didn't want to buy there. I came on to Amazon and found it.Living in the DFW area sped things up for me. The company is based in Plano. I ordered it Monday, it shipped Tues, and I received it today (Weds). I've already completed the test and am waiting for it to "dry" before dropping it off at the FedEx box down the street.First off, the pre-registration process isn't difficult. You call, punch in your home access number, then are presented with a panel of questions. You can choose to answer them or not. They are all demographic based. I chose to answer them, because I think demographics ARE important. The process took 5 minutes according to my cell phone.Having a diabetic mother, I had some insight into where to place the lancet. I recommend the side of your middle finger of the hand you DON'T write with. The tissue is softer on the side. You also free up your primary hand to do the squeezing and blood placement. Be sure to run your hand under warm water for about 30 seconds. This will soften the tissue and increase blood flow. I had no problems saturating the little circle. It takes a few tries to get the right pressure for good blood flow. Too much will cause the blood to clot quicker. Not enough will take so long the blood clots before the circle can be filled. If you can't fill it in one try, there's another lancet for your poking pleasure. Same practice, use your Ring finger.The whole process, from the time I got home until the time I drop it in the FedEx box will have taken about 60 minutes.My results will be ready possibly on Friday, Tuesday at the latest. I think it's worth the cost and the effort. We'll see how the rest of it goes. I recommend this test to anyone, who like me, needs to know.

When using this test, you used to call the number, enter the code, answer a couple of yes/no questions and *bam* it was active. To get the results, you used to call the number, enter the code and it would read you the result.Now you have to call during business hours and speak to a live person, or leave a message with no idea how your information is being handled.

I got the express system thinking I would know the next day, I sent it off Friday but only got results today. The lancets are almost painless, the worst bit is just doing it but when you've done it you feel like an idiot being so nervous.Don't spend the money on this express, just do the normal speed one.

This was great. Results were fast and the test was easy to perform on myself. I don't really like blood and needles, but it was really fast and simple.

Arrived days before estimated delivery date and provided results in 24 horus. The money is totally worth the peace of mind.

Giving the already positive reviews about this product, I am not going into much details about it per se. All I will say is that the service is superb and I would recommend it to anymore who would like to have the peace of mind.I will, however, provide some tips to those whom wish to buy this product from out of the US. These tips are as follows:1- There is no restriction on international use of this product (i.e. you can purchase and have it shipped to you buy the seller to any country available to that seller).2- In my case, the shipment was made via USPS and was a bit delayed. In fact the expected delivery was 4-7 business days and it took around 3 weeks for delivery! This is simply because the package is out of the hands of USPS once it is out of the country. This caused me a bit of frustration since I could not even track the shipment via their service.3-The best thing to do to avoid such frustration is to find a seller who would use a fast international shipping courier such as Fedex, DHL or Aramex. You may also request any international couriers in your country to give you an address in the US in order to speed up delivery.4- Once I got the kit delivered, I used the kit as per instruction available in the kit. It was an easy and painless process.5- Although the product comes with a pre-paid over night shipping envelope (via Fedex), this can only be used within the US. Therefore, you would require to pay for your shipment.6- I decided to go with FedEx priority service to ship my blood sample as they guarantee delivery within 2-3 business days and costed me around $50 (do not let that turn you off as faster delivery means faster results and peace of mind). This service also provides effective tracking, name of the person who received the package and an image of his signature. This was very handy as I was able to confirmed receipt of the product by giving them the name of that person.8- You obviously can go with cheaper shipping, however, I do not recommend it as the blood sample needs to be tested within 10 days from the sample as the blood perishes after that and would not be fit for conducting the test.9- DO NOT PUT YOUR REAL NAME AS THE SENDER IN THE ENVELOPE. Instead place my Order ID number as the sender in the same way it appears in the pre-paid envelope you will find in the kit. This will protect your identity as well as allow Home Access to identify your order.10- The results will be available the next day of delivery at 6.30pm US Central Time (+5 GMT). So, do not bother calling earlier.11- The hardest part for me is waiting for the results. The best advice I can give to anyone is to get busy with activities such as work, studying, hanging out with friends and family. This will take your mind off the matter.In conclusion, although this service is made to be used within the US, it can be available for anyone around the world. In fact I was so happy to hear about this product as it is so reliable and protects your identity, especially if you live in a country that does not have anonymous HIV testing or simply do not have proper ways to appropriate procedures to deal with such tests (such as in my country in fact requires clinics to report any HIV+ results to the local authorities!!!)I was fortunate enough to be tested negative and to be given another chance.
