Great for light items, thin & lids aren't tight but great value for what they are
I'm giving these a 5 star rating which is actually a 5 star rating with the caveat that you need to realize that you get what you pay for - - - these are fantastic if you only store light weight items in them, don't need a tight fitting lid, and don't need to move or carry them around from room to room. They are great for storage but I definitely would not recommend for toys or supplies that kids would be reaching for daily. If I had my kids' Lego's or art markers in them and my kids were pulling these bins off the shelf daily, the Lego's and markers would probably spend more time scattered on the floor than they would contained in the bins. These bins and lids are just not secure or sturdy enough to contend with anything other than careful handling. After a major renovation of our kitchen, pantry and laundry room, I was on a major re-organizing binge.I ordered 2 sets of these bins, and also ordered two sets of the identical, but tad smaller 6qt (12.9" deep) bins (also by IRIS).They are almost the same size (the 7qt are just about an inch longer) and they stack on each other well.I needed both sizes because not all of my cabinets are 14" deep. The 7qt bins are 13.75" deep and for 14" cabinets, they are perfect. If you have the cabinet depth, the 7qt makes more efficient use of every inch.Think about what you need these for, realize these are lightweight storage before ordering and you will be happy with them. These are very thin and flexible and tho the lids do sort of click on, as soon as you pick up or handle the bin, the Iid pops right off.I was previously using empty salad mix clamshell bins for storage and would double them up to give them more strength. One of these IRIS bins has about the same rigidity of a doubled clamshell bin.I'm using these in my pantry and laundry room to hold things like tea bags, coffee filters, sponges, plastic utensils, napkins, band aids/gauze squares. They're absolutely great for these kinds of items. I can reach for a bin with one hand, pull it out and not need to support the weight of it with my other hand.If heavier items were stored in these bins, you'd need to definitely use two hands rather than just grasp a side or end. They fact that they're thin also makes them great for using as drawer organizers bc they efficiently sit side by side without handles or thick rims taking up space. I'm using them without lids to corral Rubbermaid food storage lids, immersion blender and mixer/food processor attachments. In my experience so far, every order I've received came with cracked bins and/or lids. Outer shipping boxes were fine, but it seems that shipping damage is to be expected because they just aren't packed very well. The items are nicely nested in the packing box however there is no padding or protection around or between them. They are packed in 2 stacks side by side and all the cracks were on the inside corners where the two stacks butted up against each other. A simple sheet of foam between the two stacks may have prevented this damage.Of course Amazon was amazing in letting me return the one set, but that also meant I needed to order a replacement. For some reason, I was only given the option to return . . . not return and replace. I had to place a new order and (dang it) the price had gone up from my original Black Friday sale price.Overall, very happy with these. Know what to expect and you will be too.

Not a quality product...
These boxes were almost perfectly sized for my purposes. And having some similar IRIS USA boxes that were quality items, I hoped these would meet my needs totally.But...Lids - described as "Latching" and "Certified by Green Circle for environmentally friendly plastic airtight storage container" - will not latch onto the boxes. While they have small latches on the two long ends, the design is such that they will not securely latch on both sides at the same time. The design will make moving these boxes an exercise in keeping the lids on the boxes. Not to mention, with the lids on, they are definitely not even remotely close to airtight.Stacking - described as "... has groves on the lid and body to create a secure stacking experience. IRIS USA lid-body construction ensures stability to stack securely for easy moving...". These boxes are not really stackable when compared to other similar products. The grooves on the bottom of the box, are not really big enough to keep these boxes from slipping when stacked and thus they do not stack well at all as any movement causes the upper box to slide. As for easy moving, any "stacked" box will likely end up on the floor unless you can keep the lower boxes absolutely level and move them VERY slowly. And finally, they are shipped "nested" within each other. And some of the boxes were so tightly stuck together, that they were almost impossible to separate. I literally had to almost fold one of the boxes completely in half to break the vacuum seal between the two boxes sufficiently to separate them. The sharpish plastic edges of these boxes could potentially cut a persons skin during this process. Fortunately, once separated, it appears no permanent damage was done to to my skin or to either box.

Great shape and value
These are a wonderful size for storage and organizing. I use them for different craft storage bins. They stack nicely and you can see what is inside which is helpful. I also like that they come straight down basically so things sit better and the space is better used as opposed to a slanted side. Would purchase again.
