Buy the OEM part if you care about your vehicle.
Amazon was perfect shipping this to me etc. etc. They always have done right by me. However...As far is this part is concerned I would go with the OEM part even if it is a little more expensive. If you don't care about your vehicle that much and you just want a quick, cheap fix this will work for you.I purchased this for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee SportHere are my issues with this part:1) The metal base that gets bolted to the vehicle is not coated in any way. This will start to rust immediately. The OEM part has a nice black epoxy finish. The reason you are replacing the old one in the first place is because it most likely was rusted.2) The bolts that protrude through from the bottom are two mild steel bolts that have two tack welds holding them in place. The problem with using the threw bolts like that is that it will never sit flush up against the 'frame' where it attaches. This means water will sit up there, rust the part, and the frame. The OEM part uses studs that have been recessed into the metal part and are completely flush with the back side. In all the places I researched the Walker part you never see the tops of those bolts in the pictures (pretty sneaky).3) This part comes dissembled. The OEM part comes assembled.I hope this helps the next person make the correct choice. There are lots of places to buy Mopar parts online, I would start there you can get the part number from any parts place or your service manual. I'm all for saving money on parts but this one is IMHO inferior to the OEM part.

Worked Out Well For Me
I didn't need the bracket so I cut off the welded on bolts with a Dremel and used it in the stock frame nut. Even though the original hanger bolts were rusty I was able to remove them and replace them with the ones I cut off. If I didn't have a Dremel I would have just picked up two of the same bolts from a hardware store. The rubber is a little tricky to bend and put in place but after a couple of tries it worked out well. Overall, It took me about 30-40mins to cut the bolts off the bracket, remove the rusty stock bolts and old hanger, and bolt up the new hanger.Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to cut off the welded on bolts. It was easy to do and I was able to mount it without any problems.96' XJ Sport

A correct fit & good fix.
This is the correct hanger for '96 and older Jeep Cherokees that I mentioned in the review for the Walker Dynamax 17340 exhaust system. I did replace the two bolts with two 3/8-16 x 1 1/2' elevator bolts. They are available at Lowe's for $1.15 each. You will have to oversize the hole and weld them in or reshape the hole to fit the head of the bolt. Easily done as the metal is soft. Elevator bolts have a flat head, not domed like carriage bolts. Either welding or reshaping the hole will hold the bolts in place when the hanger is mounted to the body.

Can't really use it
This is a very sturdy bracket it's very strong but the bolts in the middle stick out the back the original one was flush with the plate so that you can bolt it down flat this will not bolt down flat the bolts get in the way.

It works but not great
It will work. Mounting holes all lined up. The only thing I didn't like was this bracket is a piece of sheet metal with 2 bolts tack welded to it, leaving the head of the inside bolt between the sheet metal and unibody. I had to cut the head off and reweld the threaded portion to the bracket so it would sit flush. This isn't necessary, the bracket will bend around that bolt head and tighten up to unibody, I'm just picky about the appearance.

Grind the bolts
Bolts stick out making the metal plate not sit flush to the frame. I had to grind down the bolt heads to make the part fit.

Just like OEM
The lower metal bracket rusted off of the original tailpipe hanger on my Jeep Cherokee--thanks to Colorado's love affair with overusing corrosive wintertime road chemicals--and I didn't want to use one of those cheesy generic metal strap hangers that never fit right and resonate into the passenger compartment (Flowmaster 40-series mufflers make good power and sound great outside, not so much inside). I found this hanger on Amazon, swapped it out with the original, and life is good again!

Direct replacement cherokee xj.
Direct fit cherokee xj. Cut off the hanger bar on the walker tailpipe. That is meant to be used with the generic walker hanger. This clamps directly to the tailpipe with a 2.25" clamp.
