The roller and filter kits for the rug shampooer is so important....the filter keeps the trash from polluting the suction so that the flow of filth to the dirty water holder and the roller helps massage the soapy water into the rug..new parts make things work so much better...the roller has little spiney dots or pins that help massage and separate dirty sections of the rug....love this

I use my Bissel Crosswave religiously (ever other day) and always clean it when I am finished, so you can imagine my surprise that the last time I used it I noticed that the filter had mold on it. I’ve never had this happen before. I’ve always used the filters straight from Bissel and decided to try out these ones and this one I’ve only been using for about a week. The ones from Bissel each I had used for probably 3-4 months with proper cleaning. So use at your discretion. The roller scrubber though I’ve not had any problems out of and work just like the ones from Bissel.
