Arkray Glucocard Vital Glucose Meter Auto Coding one of my favorite to pack for traveling. Has a great result for my glucose. Would buy again.

Three of the four of my children have Problems with their sugar so we have 3 of these so we can keep a check on their sugar. We started out with just one but when they are gone to camp or friends houses we like them to have it with them. They are simple to use and give a quick reading. The price can’t be beat!

The product is economical, and reliable to used. Simple very accessible to get.

I was shocked after using Glucocard for a couple of years when I discovered they were not among the brands rated by consumer reports. but in reading the CR ratings and advice, it becomes obvious that the manufacturers of these devices are in it for the profitability. Think ink jet printers. They will practically GIVE away the printer then you'll go bankrupt buying the cartridges to make them work.In this case, You an buy a meter for under $20 but the cards (average four per day as a standard) will cost you between $500 - Walmart's brand -and $2000 a YEAR for the most accurate of these meters (listed by brand name in consumer reports). The supplies for these Glucocard meters (both this Vital and the Expression- I now have both) are a FRACTION of what the other brands charge. Because they were not evaluated on the list at CR, I still am unsure about the accuracy of these meters but they seem to be doing the job for me over the past two years. AND I can get one HUNDRED test strips (two boxes) for around twenty bucks. A tiny fraction of the nearly $1+ per test strip required to operate the highest rated on the CR report.
