The instructions don't really make this clear but you need to remove the end stopper off the top of the zipper that will hold the new slider. There are 2-3 replacement stoppers and, after fitting the slider that effectively holds the two sides of teeth together, you put a replacement stopper on the upper end of the zip. I had to hit the stopper with a hammer, in order to get it to grip the top of the zipper teeth, as the parts here are made of metal rather than the flimsy plastic often found elsewhere and a pair of pliers won't do the job. Only three stars because the instructions didn't make the above obvious and, like others here, I wasted a couple of hours trying to figure this out. Clearer instructions in future packages please! Finished job looks fine.

I bought the Zipper Repair Kit as I'd had three zip pulls snap on a very expensive outdoor coat. I was aware, from previous reviews, that the repair kit could be difficult to operate and that there might be pulls included within the kit which would be surplus to requirements.The kit arrived within one week of ordering.I'm not a quitter and I have relatively small fingers, which makes me quite dexterous, but after two hours of trying to repair the broken zips I gave up.There was only one zip pull in the kit which fitted my three broken zips. I tried to use it on all three broken zips but, even though I followed the enclosed hints & tips, I could not make it mesh with the teeth on the broken zips.I agree with previous reviewers that the enclosed instructions are minimal and inadequate.Maybe it was something to do with the type of zip I was trying to repair but, after two hours of fiddling, I had to give up.Also, one zip pull when I needed at least three, was a disappointment. Until you get the kit you cannot assess the size of the replacement zip pull you require.

I think we lost one zipper slider from our 2nd hand buggy cover after washing it. Some teeth off zip, kids will get out before the zip is down far enough. The first zipper head I tried fitted perfectly, fixed zip. I stitched a small piece of tape securely over where the zip had a gap, and did the same on the opposite side so it won't come off again. Last 6 inches I stitched on a loop one side and put a toggle button on the other. NO costly replacement buggy cover but as good as new. Wish these were more easily available in the UK - but worth the wait from the USA. packet now in the emergency repairs drawer.

pleased with purchase. replaced broken zips on two coats easily in minutes, although instructions are vague.... you need to cut after the last tooth on the zip to take off the old zip and fit the new zip then add the stopper supplied to secure zip, for anyone having trouble following instructions. did take longer to deliver hence the 4 stars

This zipper repair kit has done the job very well so far and saved me replacing a whole zip. I now have several other zipper sizes I didn't really need, but maybe one day! I had to wait a while for delivery (from US), but I didn't mind that as the repair worked easily and quickly.

Good range of sliders, fixed a coat I thought I would lose. Quite easy to use, although instructions need to be rewritten by someone other than the current author who obviously thinks he is wonderful and witty. Get a novice user to do it.

Already instantly mended a favorite old jacket that had been sitting around unworn for years without a zipper but I was too reluctant to throw it out. Now it suddenly has life again though not worn yet as weather been too warm so time will tell as to weather it lasts or not!

as i had broken my duffle bag and was using it as check in luggage on a month long trip i didnt want to spend money on a new bag.Thankfully this kit was delivered to my guesthouse in 2 days, and i managed to repair my bag and complete the trip successfully and the bag is going strong!!Easy to use kit with simple instructions - totally recommended.Now will repair two sleeping bags with the spare parts left.Excellent value!
