This product works very well and I’ve never had any issues with errors on the glucose machine. You get a good value for your money.

Updated: 4-2-2024 I continued to use this meter for a month and decided to invest in a second one so that I wouldn’t have to recalibrate between testing my blood sugar and ketones. However, in testing these units against each other, on both blood sugar and ketones, I am getting wildly differing results, sometimes as much as 10 or 15 points on blood sugar. I don’t want to mislead people into buying some thing that I no longer believe provides accurate results so I am changing my review to reflect my recent experiences.Original review: This review is for both the blood sugar and the ketone test strips as I have both. I am familiar with this type of blood testing as I had a diabetic cat who had to be monitored for a couple of years. Recently, I have become more interested in keeping my own blood sugar low and attempting to get into ketosis but I had no way of knowing how I was doing with those goals so I got the Medilax monitor and test strips. I tried them today. Because I am such a wuss about poking my own finger for blood samples, I was a bit nervous but I was successful, using the lancet system that came with the monitor. It gave me the ability to dial in how deeply I wanted that needle to go and even on the light setting, I did get a drop of blood on my first try. It was also not nearly as painful as other finger prick tests I have done.When you use these test strips, you do have to calibrate the system by inserting a small chip that comes in each box into the unit, making sure it matches the number that shows when you put the test strip inside. There are instructions included for doing this that are pretty clear. I also watched the video that was available. It is a bit annoying to have to do this step each time if you want to test both your blood sugar and your ketones on the same day, but that’s the way this unit is designed. if you want to only test blood sugar, or only test ketones, then you do not have to insert the chip each time and will only have to do that process when you open a new box of test strips. I had very little trouble doing this extra step, it just took more time.I am pleased that the test strips seem to work as they need to and require a very small drop of blood. On my first try with ketones, I did not have enough blood but it was obvious because you can watch the level of it rise quickly up the test strip. It did not reach the end of The channel that it was traveling in and so, when I did get an error code, I knew why. I tried again with a larger drop of blood and a test strip and my ketones were properly measured. Still, having said that, I was surprised by how little blood was actually needed. I felt that I had barely broken the skin on my finger and just the small drop of blood that appeared was enough in four out of five tests.At this point in time, I am unable to judge the accuracy of this unit and these test strips but I will say that the results I got did not surprise me and I am led to assume that they worked well.

I'm new to glucose and ketone monitoring, but with a family history of diabetes and a carnivore diet, I wanted to keep an eye on both. While I haven't confirmed accuracy with a doctor's meter yet, the readings seem consistent across meals and times.Overall, this meter is a good choice for beginners who want to track trends in glucose and ketones. Just be aware of the calibration process if you plan to test both regularly.

I also have the medilax glucose monitor, so have not tried this in any other tester, but they work as intended for the brand I have. This could be just my monitor, but the numbers are given in mmol/L so I have to search online for the chart to convert to mg/dL. I wish one was included with the kit or strips, which would have made it easier and earned the full 5 stars for me.I should also note that I do not have diabetes, but after a recent weight gain I was concerned with monitoring my levels as diabetes does run in the family. I love that this gives me piece of mind and keeps track of my levels while also keeping me focused on getting and staying healthy.

My bad that I did not pay attention of the advertised. It is only a test strips. So I ended up buying a meter kit compatible to this test strips. My husband is using this test strips for his sugar. He is diabetic and always he need to have a test strips at home, at work and even in the car so he has a test strips and meter wherever he is. The meter kit is not included with battery so we have to buy a 2AAA batteries. My husband is using this test strips at home to check his sugar. He said that it is alright. When we test this test trips and compared the other one that he's been using the result for both was almost the same. So, glad that this really works and my husband has enough test strips to use to test for his sugar.

Got the strip as a refill of the original ones which are out of stock at the local pharmacy we used. Overall it works most of the time, with some error message on the meter for certain strips. There are roughly 1 out of 10 we got an error message on the meter. Every time we just need to try a new one and it works. The reading is the same as the original factory strips.

Unfortunately, the person for whom I ordered these strips cannot use them. Therefore I will donate them to a clinic that provides free medical equipment to those in need. They are made in China.
