Unlikely to need this in the UK unless you really crank the heating up but I got one during the hot weather just in case. Better be prepared rather than find a good guitar damaged by being kept in a too dry environment. Use with a humidity meter when humidity falls below the lower limits recommended for your instrument. Put it away (do not use it) when humidity is within recommended limits or higher. Quite compact and fits easily into a hard guitar case.

The enclosed spunge is wet and ready to use for usually wintertime.They recommend distilled water if to recharge spunge - so learn to do that, or buy some for the purpose.Less of a risk to be breedfarm for mushrooms or mould not using tap water.Warmer part of year with high humidity I put a bag of Silica Gel inside instead, to absorb some moisture.

I now have two as they are simple to use and effective at keeping my guitar cases at 50% relative humidity
