Daylight Ultra-Slim Magnifier XR - Illuminated Magnifying Lamp with 28W Daylight Energy Saving Bulb.

I bought this lamp to see clearly the intricate jewellery that I make. It is a sturdy, easy to use excellent piece of equipment which I would now never be without. I would recommend it for any intricate work.

I am an author designer and teacher of needle painting embroidery and have used the slimline magnifying lamp from Daylight with the glass lens for many years - it was fantastic. Decided to upgrade to the XR lamp and was surprised to notice that there was a visible dip in my fabric when viewed through the lens. I tried looking at various other things such as books and pictures and the dip was still there. Daylight company kindly sent a replacement lens, believing it to be faulty but the dip was still there! It is virtually impossible to stitch with this light as one feels as though one is stitching in waves over the dip so I cannot recommend it for embroidery or similar tasks. Such a pity, I do hope that Daylight will look into this problem as the lamp has great potential. Meantime I would recommend ordering either the 5" or 7" glass lens magnifying lamp by Daylight or the 3 in 1 by Purelite. Trish Burr.

This purchase was a direct replacement for the same model so exactly what I expected. Can highly recommend daylight lamps.

Just the job, now I can see what am doing

The Daylight Ultra-Slim Magnifier arrived safely. On unpacking I though how light it was. It was easy to assemble and provided excellent magnification and light. I like the fact that in the future you can send off for a stronger magnification lens. It was a present for my Father to enable him to do his puzzles and Jigsaws without having to struggle to see. It was also extremely easy to move around to get the desired positioning. Overall an excellent purchase and my Dad was extremely pleased with his gift.
