made very well and the price is amazing
i’m a professional boxing photographer and I have damaged many many lens hoods if I want to order the manufacturer one, it cost me anywhere from $85-$130 each time this lands cap is I believe under $10. It is built just like the manufacturers have never had any problems with them highly recommend it if you want to pay the manufacturers cost of one go ahead. This is a fantastic alternative for the price. Highly recommended

A decent alternative for a great price.
I bought my 24-70 2.8 L II used from a working professional. The factory hood, while in excellent condition (I don't think it was used much, if at all) did not fit tight, and didn't really lock in place very well.(am I the only one who really misses the sturdy old twist lock hood Canon used to use an L lenses ?? The new push button ones suck in my opinion)In use, it fell off a couple times in use, and I finally just left it at home. The hood for this lens is so small I didn't really miss it, but like to have the hood to protect the front of the lens somewhat. I have always used lens hoods for protection instead of UV filters. So as to this very inexpensive replacement hood, I am pretty happy with it. It lacks the internal flocking, and it also doesn't lock in place like it should (I do not need to push the button to remove it, which MAY be an issue with my lens, not the hood). But it fits tight and secure, and stays in place during heavy field use unlike the Canon one.I won't cry too much if I lose it, as long as I can get another one this cheap.

Like the OEM
This fits great if you have the newer lens this is designed for. It has a flocked interior and a textured exterior. Highly recommend over the brand name one for the price. Not just cheap black plastic like you might expect at the price.

Good Quality and Well fit, Decent Surface Pattern
I were a little concern before placing order since some buyers said it is too tight or does not fit well. But it turned out this is very good quality one and well fit. You just need to know the hood has a lock button and you need to push the button when uninstalling it. The surface pattern mimics decent coating like the coating on Lens surface, not seen in normal plastic hood. Very impressive.

Doesn't fit at all
Doesn't even fit a 24-70mm lens. I bought it for my Canon L 24-70mm 2.8 and it does right over the lens. Worthless

Works on a Sony 24-70 F2.8 G Master lens too!
Took a chance on this since the Sony and Canon lenses both use the same filter diameter. So, I can't bash on it too hard. It's made for the Canon 24-70 f2.8, but I use it on my Sony 24-70 f2.8 G Master lens. It fits, and locks on, but takes a little extra effort to get it in place. I just needed something to get me by until I could find a Sony OEM hood for less than $90. SHEEESH those things are expensive! Pound for pound, the replacement Sony hood for my lens costs more than the lens. But I digress. This Fotasy hood seems to be of decent quality, and is an adequate replacement for a Canon OEM hood for those that are more concerned about function over having everything matchy matchy. I mean c'mon...it's just a hood. It blocks stray photons just as well as a Canon hood.

Don't buy it!
Don't buy it! Spend the money on the Canon original. It does not fit tight and rotates a 1/4 turn causing a vignette in opposite corners messing up photos!!! Very hard to catch the vignette while working. This has happened to me too many times for me to not come back and write this review. I'll never use it again!

Excellent replacement for original part
The original Canon hood failed and I wasn’t going to pay the crazy price Canon wanted for something that is basically a fancy piece of plastic. This lens hood was a fraction of the cost and works just as well as the original.
