Game Changer for our Anxious Dog
I believe i have left a first review already, but this is an updated review over a month later, and it is perfect. our dog who is a very good boy in all aspects hates being crated, but as he is young and we had a scare where he was chewing on a cord that was, thankfully, only plugged into a power strip that was currently powered off, he needs to be crated when we are not around to watch him. he broke two kennels, one of the common ones you see everywhere that works for most dogs, and a second heavy duty one that was very nice, completely ripped the door off from the inside, and ripped out the bars. He does get anxiety when i am not home, so he needs somewhere safe to be, and this kennel has provided that space. It used to be when i would get home he would be crying, and i'd come home to more damage to the old crate, and after a while, to the floor that he was tearing up if he couldn't get out. He would frequently urinate on himself from the stress of not having someone home with him, which would also make him stressed and overly pushy/jumping on you, grabbing your hands when he was let out, and it would make his need to be velcroed to my side even worse. With this crate, i arrive home and he's usually sleeping and calm, even though he's only ever in it for a couple of hours when my husbands and my shifts overlap. it's no longer a bad thing for him, and we leave it open for him, and for our other dog, to go into when overwhelmed and needing to be left alone or destress. He will actually go in it on his own now. no issue with him urinating on himself anymore, and he has several blankets in it for padding because he likes to make a little nest in it when he lays in it. he's no longer even attempting to get out or break down the door, which i don't think is possible even if he tried. We got a crate much larger than he needed as our other dog also likes to have somewhere to go when overwhelmed, and the kids are taught to leave them alone if they go to the crate, and she is a good 4 or 5 inches taller than he is. It functions great, i love the extra locks, it's not too heavy to move, though it's not exactly light, it was expensive, but worth every penny spent on getting it. it was a bit difficult to put together, but the instructions were easy to follow. i suggest having two people there to build it, as that would have made the job much simpler and faster, as i put it together by myself. Includes all the tools you need and extra hardware for if you drop and lose a screw, nut, or lock washer. It came on time, and is absolutely perfect. It's always dark inside, which i think helps. if your dog has separation anxiety this is a wonderful crate option for them. Another tip is if you put on a radio station or the TV on low volume to a show where people talk on it a lot, it will also help keep the dog calm and relaxed, as they cant see out of the crate to know you're not there, and will think that someone is home with them. Train them on going in and out with a command such as "Go to bed" and "Good Morning" with lots of treats and praise, as well as having that be where they go for about 20 minutes after eating (Have a GSD mix and didn't want to risk her stomach flipping so we started doing this with our dogs) and it's no longer scary or a bad thing. Just don't use it as a punishment or yell at them then toss them in, or yell at them while in it or it will be associated with bad things and you'll have difficulty with it. Other tips for anxious dogs not to do with the crate include a set routine they can count on. (Such as this rough example: Wake up at this time and outside to potty. Then breakfast, rest for 20 minutes, then go on a walk. After the walk it's outside time to play or sunbathe, then inside for the hot hours, going outside once an hour to potty. Then go through 20 minutes training on basic, then intermediate and advanced commands at 4, followed by an afternoon walk or trip to the dog park to run and play, then dinner, 20 minute quiet time, then outside to potty. Then rest and cuddles on the couch and bedtime after that.) A set routine, which does not have to be exactly as described above, I'm aware people have jobs and their shifts are not always going to cooperate, but any set, predictable routine greatly helps anxious dogs and relieves stress for them.

Good product!
Fantastic product, well thought out, perfectly packaged. They should have said that the XXL version takes a while to put together with a friend. It took us 1.5 hours. It would have taken A LOT longer using the little allen wrench that was provided. They should have said to provide your own allen wrench with a cordless drill and a 3/8" wrench. I did break one of the bolts as I was putting the crate together so I think that the actual bolts are made of chineseium. But, after the bolt breaking, I was stupid careful not to really tighten them. (Good news, there were spares in the package.)I would buy again.

LIVE THIS CRATE!
Buying this crate was the best thing we ever did. We live close to a military base and they use the artillery fields often, so our BRICK house is always shaking and we are always here SUPER loud booming at all hours of the day and night. Our rescue dog is extremely calm and wonderful when it's quiet the moment the military starts making noise he freaks out and becomes destructive. He is on daily anti anxiety meds, 300mg of trazadone for when it gets really bad and cbd dog treats for when it's really bad and he still was almost collapsing his old crate on himself trying to get out. We have tried EVERYTHING to help him but we think he just has trauma from being on the streets, that the military noises just trigger his ptsd. This Impact Crate has been a lifesaver, he is much calmer but the best part is he is safe and can't hurt himself in it. We were essentially trapped in our house before getting this crate because we never knew when the military would start making noise so we could never leave. It was definitely worth the cost since it means he is safe and we can have peace of mind when we leave the house.

My dog likes it
Took me 3 hours to put together, hard to get screws fully tightened and they kept falling off. Large is to large for my standard poodle lab and wish I would have gotten a medium. My dog does well in the kennel.

Do your homework
Impact crate sold me a high anxiety, crate for my large breed dog and unfortunately, it was not the correct size even though it was rated for that size.I did my own research and I’m so glad that Amazon now carries impact crate because I was able to do a payment plan without having to use my debit card as collateral like impact crates website expects you to do. I got the extra large anxiety crate, which has been phenomenal for my Pressa.

False Advertising
Bought ours from the impact website and there’s a reason you can’t leave reviews on their website. Latches break after awhile. The warranty and guarantee are both fake and they do not help you with any problems. Once your return window runs out there’s not returning even for warrantee. Better Business Bureau has many reports for their false advertising. The “chat” online messages with broken English so that should tell you enough of the customer service quality. Trash. Also the $100 “ballistic” dog bed after one night... Steer clear. Take your money to a different company like we should have.
