Poor quality put into assembly. Wire, solder, and metal bits inside.
The light works, yes... BUT the quality and finish is terrible. Look at my attached photos to see the following: Metal shavings and loose solder on the LED module. Rough machining in the threads and also metal shavings. When I’m scewing the top bezel back on it feels like there is grit or sand in the threads. There is metal shavings, but that mostly because the housing was not properly machined with an accurate thread pitch. So when you’re threading it back together it’s gouging itself with the threads from the bezel. For a $50 light it leaves a lot to be desired. The machining is terrible, the solder joints are terrible, the overall finish is terrible. I seriously doubt this thing will last very long with daily use. This light is worth $10, but no way is this thing worth $45 or $50. This is over priced junk. No Good. Save you’re money and go buy something else.

A great specialty light.
This light is unlike anything you are probably familiar with. First, a little UV education. Pure 365nm uv is beyond the visible spectrum. So, 100% 365nm uv would be invisible to the naked eye. The only thing you would see is the fluorescence of objects that are excited by the light. That is the holy grail of uv, but it's not practical or really possible to achieve, especially at this price point. When the uvbeast mini is turned on, it has what appears to be a dim white light; until the light hits something that is uv reactive, then it's very obvious that this thing is putting out intense uv light. The contrast between the background and the UV reactive object is insane. The background looks natural while the reactive object glows brightly. This light easily brings out the security band in the $100 bill, which is not easily achieved with lesser lights.I have this light and the UVBeast 2. The uvBeast 2 is better at illuminating a large area. If you are stain seeking or scorpion hunting, the uvBeast 2 is the better suited light. If you need contrast and clarity, the uvBeast mini is for you. However, don't expect the same power output as the much larger uvBeast 2.

Worst 365nm light I've ever owned
This is far and above the worst light I've ever owned. It did not come with a battery, so I was forced to take apart a lithium ion batter pack to get the correct 18650 battery it requirees. Although the white LED is very brigh (which btw I would have ordered an LED flashlight if I wanted a white LED)t, the 365nm LED does not produce the claimed florescence -- almost none in ambient light And no, I'm not talking about visible light, I'm talking about the way that certain things emit lower energy photons and glow when 365 nm light is absorbed. Do not but this product, aside from the casing, it's a total waste of money. It _might_ be worth the money if they replaced the WHTIE LED with a 365 NM LED and put a 365nm bandpass filter on it and included a battery. Very upset over this purchase.

The best purchase of any product I have ever purchased!!!
I was a little skeptical about the the claim that this small flashlight could produce more intense fluorescence than a much higher wattage 395nm light. But I tested it on my Driver's license and the difference is quite remarkable. The Beast turned a dim fluorescent image from a barely visible image to a glowing fully detailed image and this comparison was done in a room with ambient light. The difference is literally night and day, it is like comparing a white light 40 watt bulb to a halogen lamp. Okay, you can see I am impressed with the product, but I am equally impressed with the customer service. I had a question regarding specific applications of the product and the communication from this company was prompt, instantaneous. They took the time to ask the necessary questions to determine the best result. They spent a great deal of time researching my particular questions and responses and provided me with a detailed response that completely satisfied all questions and enhanced my particular application of the product. This company is passionate about its product and they go to extraordinary lengths to ensure their customers are satisfied. This is a rare thing, I have never seen this amount of effort from any other seller on any product. Now back to the product, the ability to use rechargeable batteries is an absolute requirement for me. A bonus, is the very bright LED light. So you have a true perfectly calibrated UV light, an incredible flashlight, and it is rechargeable. Add to that, a company that has the best customer service I have ever experienced and this purchase is the best purchase of any product I have ever purchased. If it were possible to, I would add another star to the rating as their product and their company are hands-down the best you will find. They are at a higher level than other sellers, in a league of their own. Amazon should create another level of review for a company that is superior in all aspects of their operation. 5 Stars is not enough for this product and for this company.

Just not worth the money at all
It works OK, and OK only, when you have the object or specimen in your hand. The white light is fine, but you can buy a white flashlight of equal brightness for $2.00 at the corner gas station. But if you are trying to UV illuminate something more than a foot or two away, or are trying to use the UV light to find things, you are out of luck. It has no real practical purpose for anything outside of arms reach. It just is not bright at all, it does not make objects bright enough to be noticed.Add to that, they didn't even build it to use standard batteries, so you have to spend $30 or more for non-standard batteries and a special charger. All of that together, means this product is a complete dud. If I had not thrown out all of the packaging before the batteries and charger arrived in a separate shipment, I would certainly be returning this. As is, I am stuck with a sub par flashlight that doesn't really meet my needs. But if I keep it for twenty or thirty years, who knows maybe I will find a use, right?

It Does It's Job Very Well
I bought this because it is a high powered unit. Build quality is very good. I like the fact that the UV light is the first one to come on every time you press the switch. At least the torch is not going to be switched on unless you actually want to use it which does also give out a decent light. My main use is for bank notes and it does bring up the full colours and detail of the hidden value as shown on the BoE website. It seems to work in any light which is a bonus as most of them have a hard job seeing the hidden value in normal lights or the colours are wrong. These lights would be very good for anybody who works outside such as taxi drivers and market traders. I actually compared my friend's counterfeit £20 note which her son got out of a cash machine, and a genuine £20 note and I couldn't tell the difference. Neither could any of my friends. They all thought both notes were genuine. It even had all the raised print and magnetic measure built in. The UV light is what told me it was counterfeit. As one friend said "this is scary" and at the end of the day, a counterfeit bank note has no value. This unit may be expensive to purchase but it does work in most lighting conditions and it is accurate in what it displays. How much could you potentially save and what is piece of mind really worth?

If Only
My overall experience was marred by the impression that the item wasn’t new. Inside the box the bubble wrap sleeve around the torch was unsealed, there were no instructions, and the rubberised ‘O’ ring seal was loose in the box. The metalwork outside the torch wasn’t completely unblemished and inside, the bottom of the battery compartment looked tarnished. The wrist strap was already attached (by whom?), whereas other products leave the decision over this accessory to the user. Without any instructions it took time to establish that the torch worked properly. Counter-intuitively the spring contact in the battery compartment is for the anode of the battery and the sequence of on/off clicks is not as expected. I almost wrote off the torch as a dud, but I eventually discovered how to work it successfully. It does indeed perform as stated in the web advert but getting there was tortuous. You would be very satisfied with this product if you received a pristine example with all the hallmarks of a brand-new item, but I didn’t.

Genuine 365nm light
I have 395nm lights and this is clearly a different wavelength, the 20 in £20 shines bright as it should at 365nm so it seems legit. There is much less visible blue light again as it should at 365 but the UV light still seems pretty powerful, can use in daylight. Its a bit annoying having to cycle through the white light though, its UV>off>white>off>UV etc, that might be a deal breaker if you were having to turn it on and off a lot like on a door checking notes.

Lightweight UV / visible torch.
Torch very bright as is the UV. Unfortunately there is a lot more visible blue light in the UV mode which can wash out the lighter reactions. Description led me to expect lot less/no visible light in UV mode.
