It smells like strong nail polish, but it goes on just as easy, and dries clear in minutes. I cleaned the green and black off of all the pain- inducing earrings I bothered to keep with jewelry alcohol (90% alcohol, I highly recommend for use on your phones and jewelry during these pandemic times.) Then I painted the Nickel Guard on. Since then, my ears have been able to heal and I experience no irritation. Being similar to nail polish, I expect the product to rub off on the backs and on my skin, so I plan to repaint in a few months. For the size of the bottle, you can do a whole jewelry shop worth of earrings, so be generous and get the backs and reapply so you don't have to suffer anymore.

I spent a lot of money on an anniversary ring for my wife, only to see the ring laying on the counter in the kitchen...she explained that she was having break outs on the finger she wore it on. I bought this hoping that it would help and that I could wear a few pieces of my jewelry again. I painted this onto my necklace and earrings. I wore that necklace and earrings exactly twice. By day three, my neck was broken out in a swollen, red itchy rash. That was almost a week ago now and my rashes have gotten worse. It will take me a month for my skin to heal. This did not work at all and in fact, made everything worse.

I have been struggling with nickel sensitivity in jewelry my whole life and glad I found something safe and effective. Protects my skin against nickel irritation. Gave 4 stars because the protective coating can easily chip off and you have to recoat the whole thing in one smooth application (especially for earrings)

We got this to coat the inside of a ring that was causing some allergic reaction after being worn for many years. To be honest we don't know if it worked or not, it went on and after that it was imperceptible. The rash did go away but that may well have been from a different kind of washing, or cleaning the ring. Nothing against this produce, just not 100% it was what we actually needed.

I suddenly developed a reaction to my Apple Watch. Found this product and it’s working for me. So glad because I truly love my watch.
