This HandheldDIY Modcase is a superb choice if you are modding your Ally for aesthetics and functionality. It comes in stock styled OG white, a super cool retro style translucent purple, and a very nice DIY cyberpunk clear translucent. I went with the clear translucent to fully show off the inside of my device.The kit comes with everything you need to do the installation yourself and the process is straightforward and not hard to accomplish. You get the backplate, screwdriver, extra screws, thermal pad, silicone adapters for your back buttons, and the strap for attaching to the kickstand. There is a great installation video on the HandheldDIY Youtube channel to follow along or you can follow your favorite Techtubers video. It only took about 10 minutes to install the Modcase.Not only does the backplate look great, but it actually improves gaming on the Ally as well! It has an improved vented airflow design with increased intake and exhaust for better cooling and a nice heat spreader built into backplate with an included silicone thermal pad. This reduces the overall temperature of your handheld which leads to better performance, lower fan noise, improved battery life, and overall the Ally is cooler feeling in hand.The foldable kickstand on the back is very handy and is made of a nice aluminum. It can also be used with the included silicon straps to secure a power bank, USB dock or whatever you like to the back of your Ally, which is super convenient. You can also get a custom aluminum nameplate from HandheldDIY to personalize your Modcase even further or add your own stickers, skins or whatever to make it even more personal and unique.I believe this is the best modcase/backplate in the market for the ROG Ally. It is affordable, gives you everything you need in the box, installs easy, and most importantly looks amazing while actually giving tangible performance improvement. I can't recommend the HandheldDIY Modcase enough, and I'll probably be adding the purple to my cart as well so I can switch looks up on occasion. If you are on the fence about this Modcase vs the competitors I advise you to choose HandheldDIY. They really nailed it with the Modcase.Cheers and Happy Gaming!

This back plate is hella nice! There's a significant difference in weight compared to the stock back plate. The kick stand is a nice touch too, very convenient and durable. I've already noticed a huge difference in the consoles temp since swapping the plates. 10/10 recommend.Also, thanks for the free Apple Watch band lol

Nothing short of an amazing product for Ally owners. Not easily impressed but it literally erased all the short comings of the oem ally backplate. The temps have dropped DRASTICALLY and I rediscovered a device I was getting fed up with , by swapping the backplate and installing bazzite over Windows. Amazing combo and temps nowhere near the 90° like it was before. Also benefits more from docking with fans which were pretty much useless before that . Highly recommended

Make the strap longer. Like 3-4 more notches. For frankenmods.

I love this thing. I have a 74wh battery that fits perfectly in it.My temps are lower and it looks awesome since you can see through it.Highly recommend!

Easy install. You can actually feel the difference and the heat dissipate through the vent.

Great case that genuinely improves the ergonomics of the ROG Ally Z1. Ever try holding one of those as-is. It's a hand cramping nightmare. Not with this case. It sits nice and comfy with no strain. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I'd prefer a rubberized grip on the back. It's a minor thing but it would help.

This looks really nice and feels very pro. I have no idea of the claimed heat / speed improvements are real but it has a MUCH bigger silicon block than the stock unit and the metal grill seems heftier / more heat sinky. Installation was a breeze, the kickstand is solid.I was scared I couldn't get the optional battery wrap off, but I realized you could push down the middle button and it slides out. I have gotten a lot of compliments, especially from people who I say "CHECK OUT THIS SWEET MOD I DID" to at work... :D
