Baggallini Medium Avenue Tote Black/Sand

The bag is okay and holds more that you would expect given the size. However, there is only one inside zippered pocket which results in everything else being dumped into the bag. I use the zippered wristlet for makeup which helps. The exterior pockets are helpful but cannot be closed so that whatever is in them tends to tumble out when placed on the security belt at museums and some airports that do not provide containers. It does repel water and things inside the bag that has a top zipper are kept dry, but items inside the outside pockets do not stay dry. The shorter handles can easily be placed over the handle of a roller suitcase and that is a plus. Based on these criticisms, I would recommend that the manufacturer consider additional interior pockets and a way close the exterior pockets so that items do not fall out or get wet when it is raining.

As some other reviewers mentioned, this bag is smaller than expected for the listed size of 15" x 9.5" x 4.5". At the time of this review, the Pacific Blue color shows a more accurate 10.5" width in the product information at the top of the page, but the 15" width in the "Product Description" section. Other colors list the 15" width in both places.The dimensions of the bottom piece (see photos) are 11" x 4.5". Although you could probably get a 15" width by flattening the bag where the side pockets poke out, including the pocket fabric, the bag itself is 14" wide at the largest when pressed flat, tapering down to 11" at the bottom. So when standing upright with the sides straight (as it would be when filled), it is 11" wide.Even though the bag is a little smaller than what I was looking for, it's still the closest thing to fitting my requirements. I need a lightweight tote bag for travel with a zippered top, outside pocket(s) for a water bottle, handles with a drop length of around 10-11", and preferably one with a removable crossbody strap.The bag appears to be well made, and I like the interior leash for attaching your keys, as well as the detachable small pouch. Personally, I think the fabric looks kind of cheap, but that's the nature of this type of fabric, and the trade-off for something that is durable and lightweight. I do wish that either the small middle pocket on the outside front of the bag had a zipper, or that there were some slip pockets on the inside in addition to one interior zippered pocket. I'd like a place to easily slip my phone, but I don't want it in an unzippered exterior pocket, and I don't want to place it in the single zippered interior pocket along with car keys, wallet, etc.

Great everyday purse, especially in winter. I don't like using my good leather purses in the winter, this is lightweight, fits my regular size IPAD. Also great for traveling, it fits a lot, good phone pockets on outside, only wish it had more inside pockets.

I spent about a month looking in stores and online for the perfect tote bag. I wanted something medium-sized, that would fit everyday stuff for when I don't bring want to bring my backpack. So, for my wallet, book, sweater, water bottle, and maybe even my small macbook if necessary, but NOT be huge or cumbersome. I'm not a huge purse person, so I wanted functional above all else, but something that looks nice enough to look professional when necessary. This fits the bill perfectly!I haven't used the long strap, as the short ones work perfectly. I love the outside pockets for my phone, keys, etc. The quality is exactly what I expected from Baggallini. The metal details look wonderful, and the bag is clearly made very well. The material repels water, so looks good even if you get stuck in a little rain.The only thing I wish is that the smaller straps were less slippery-- they need some kind of traction. They work find, but sometimes if I'm wearing a slippery coat, they slide off my shoulder too easily. Not a big deal at all, but just a tiny thing that is occasionally annoying.

Was about to cancel the order, thought the bag would be small but, it turned out to be perfect for every day. Looks like a classic tote but, a bit smaller which is great for my petite frame. Love the pink interior make it feel more feminine. Lightweight and a great color that would go with most coats or outfits. I am starting to love this brand, taking a break from my heavy leather purses, which my shoulders, neck, and back are thankful for. Shipped fast. No problems. I am happy.

This bag is the perfect size and shape for me to use as my everyday bag. No, it is not a super-roomy tote bag; it's more of a shopper tote. The built-in handles are long enough for me to carry it comfortably on my shoulder (I don't use the optional long strap), and the bag doesn't dwarf my 5'3" frame.I am happy that this bag includes the standard Baggallini wallet and key fob, each on a leash. My one major complaint is that the key fob is attached on the far side of the bag, where it's accessible when the bag is fully open but inaccessible when the bag is mostly zipped (see photo). When I'm on my way home from the subway and getting ready to open the door, I like to be able to reach into my bag and quickly grab my keys without having to completely unzip my bag. I've done a workaround to attach the key fob on the other side, but it's an imperfect solution.The only other drawback I can think of is that, as another reviewer mentioned, there's no division between the side pockets on the front and back of the bag. If I put, say, my lip balm in the right-side front pocket, it can easily migrate and end up in the left-side back pocket -- because they're really one big joined pocket.Despite these imperfections, I use this bag frequently and am considering buying a second one in another color. I love all my Baggallini bags for their sturdiness, practicality and good looks, and this one is no exception.

Very nice bag. Fabric isn't as substantive as I expected but the bag is well made and lightweight - that's what I wanted.
