Renewed - Looked brand new
I bought these as "renewed " or open box for a ridiculously low price. They came double boxed, looked flawless and brand new. Hooked them up to a small Lepai class D amp, they sound lovely (open and natural sounding with lots of detail)These are The MB42x variants, the x indicates an improved crossover design, with a Zobel network . That, and the silk dome tweeters are the magic of these. I often listen to Hi-res music, SACD, or high bitrate flac, and I am always amazed how good these speakers sound, esp for their small size.Update: I have now several pairs of these. As of the latest, I am using a pair with a re-chipped Fosi V3 ( muse02 op-amps) and continue to be amazed how good these sound. There are 2 limitations you have to be aware of: They have a limited RMS of only 40W, and not a huge amount of bass. Having said that, the Fosi is rated 2x160W and I can crank the amp up half way. Bass is pretty articulate, but these tiny speakers only go down to 60hz or so. If you add a subwoofer, these could hold their own against a much more expensive setup. For small room casual listening, or as a sound system for a computer, they are a good solution.I also have the 8" in-wall version of these: those are similar, but a bit bassy-er, and more RMS.

Can’t beat it at the price point
Anyone who’s got complaints has listened to a good amount of speakers. Sounds great, definitely not the perfect product. At $75-80/pair i doubt you’ll find much to come close. I use the full mb42x lineup for my 5.1 setup and a Dayton sub to pair. Very pleased with the output.

So much sound for the size!
This speakers have a surprising depth of sound for the their diminutive size. They offer very full round sound that easy fills a large living room or small apartment effortlessly. Having paired these with a small SMSL AD18 amplifier, these are discrete in my room and and just great for daily use. I play music while working around the house or entertaining, and enjoy some video content as well. Their imaging is a bit week, but with such small speakers, the imaging field is also going to be small and I do not sit close enough to really experience that part. All in all, they are very impressive for their size and price, with great clarity, very detailed and not wooly bass, and good weight of sound in regards to their size. A must buy for a small system on a budget.

Not a bad speaker, but their definition of renewed is really repacked without fixing the damage.
I wanted to like these speakers, but I was disappointed when I unpacked them. They are listed as renewed, but they are just damaged speakers repacked without any parts, manual and not even in a made for the speakers box. The sound was ok, but I bought some Edifier speakers model P17 to replace them. They were on sale direct from Edifier for $70. The Edifier’s are a more well rounded speaker in the same size footprint. I prefer the Micca’s woofer materials and the highs are a slight nod to the Micca’s as well. I’m happier with the Edifier’s for sure.

Decent but you can do better
These speaker are just ok if you are on a tight budget, but I'd recommend that you save a little more and buy the Micca RB42, a much better speaker. You would be much happier with the RB42's , better bass, smaller footprint and better looks.

Not as crisp as fluid as Pioneer speakers but they are much smaller and perfect for a bedroom office etc One of the best ...
small solidly built and detailed speakers. Not as crisp as fluid as Pioneer speakers but they are much smaller and perfect for a bedroom office etcOne of the best under $ 100 speakers. Magnet grills are a great feature plus banana clip binding posts

really love it!
Finally got it plugged in and tested and absolutely love these speakers. It's super cheap, and it looks and feels brand new, so i'm not even sure if it was really renewed!I also didn't screw the micca speakers on the speaker stand, and i had a guest over who knocked it straight off, landing pretty hard on the hardwood floors. I learned that the micca speakers are tough and can have a good hard hit to the floor. It doesn't damage, and doesn't even dent. It still looks brand new, with some wood marks on the spot it fell on. Not a big deal. It may have 9 lives so i need to be more careful. Also if you don't have a lot of space, i'd recommend mounting it to the walls or ceiling. I'm getting rid of the speaker stands as it is space consuming and i want more floor space :)

Buy these over the new ones; good sound for size
If you are hesitant on buying this versus the new one, I would take the chance on the refurbished. Mine looks pretty much new besides a few minor cosmetic flaws, only noticeable if you look for them. I am an audiophile, and I know I am late in the game to hear these speakers, but I do have to say, for the money, and their size, these are good speakers. They are not perfect though. They are not what I would consider very accurate, with a few peaks hear in there in the upper midrange and treble region and a somewhat lack of midbass as well. But even with these flaws, the speakers still give an overall good sound. Female vocals are great, soundstage is spacious, and although I would recommend a subwoofer with these, if you are looking for a compact setup these would do all right by themselves. I do think these are worth the $60 paid, but the $90 for the new pair runs it close to some competition that I think should be considered as well.TLDR - Buy these over the new. Good sound for their size. Use subwoofer for full range sound. Not accurate, but fun nonetheless. Great on a desk, bedroom or tv setup.
