Highly Useful TDS Meter by weAQUA
The media could not be loaded. It’s serendipity that I ordered this TDS meter before the wildfires started here in Los Angeles county. We’ve been experiencing wildfires for the past 3 days now. Santa Ana winds was horrendously strong. We’re experiencing ash fall today. Who knows what sort of dangerous contaminants are in our air and water now. And then, this morning, the county advised that we boil our drinking and cooking water. Having this weAQUA TDS meter helps me determine if our water is safe to drink. So, with that said, here’s my opinion about weAQUA’s TDS meter:>Functionality, fantastic.>Readability, superb.>Ease of Use, ok, but TDS meter reading would have been easier if it had some kind of grip or handle. It was difficult to see the reading while holding the meter in the water.>Size, excellent.>Speed, excellent.>Battery Life, I wouldn’t know yet. I just purchased it. Maybe I’ll write an update after about a month.

Strips in Tube May be Stale
The strips are easy to use, and are accurate enough for my purpose. Water coming into the house is hard (3), water from the taps is soft (0), so I'm confident my water softener is working. I agree with other customers that the strips in the tube can be stale, and may not give accurate results. I got better (less ambiguous) readings from a fresh pack of strips. I would suggest that all four sets of strips be packaged in sealed pouches. That way all of the strips would be usable.I would actually prefer to buy single strips in individual sealed pouches. I only need to use two per month to verify that my incoming water hasn't changed and the softener is working.

Quick readout, no guidance on what the reading means
I should have looked a little more. It does a quick reading but there is nothing in the provided sheet that tells you what is considered a good vs bad number. If I can get this info, I will revise my rating as it arrived quick and gives a super quick reading. I tried the water in various containers and it gave same reading. I also bought two and both gave consistent readings. I just don’t know how to interpret them and the little pamphlet didn’t help :(UPDATE- the seller reached out almost automatically. Great customer service!!Provided the below, so hope this helps future buyers:Thank you for reaching out to us. The main reason we do not provide a specific chart with the product is that the intended use of TDS meters can vary significantly from one customer to another. These meters are not only used for drinking water, but also for applications like aquariums, water softening systems, and mainline filtration measurements. Because of this wide range of use cases, it is difficult to provide a single standard reference chart that suits everyone. However, we appreciate your feedback and will definitely consider working on helpful guidelines for users. That said, here is a general idea of how TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) values are commonly interpreted: -0 to 50 ppm: Very low TDS – This range is usually achieved through reverse osmosis or distilled water and is often used in laboratory or medical applications. -50 to 150 ppm: Excellent – Considered ideal for drinking water; usually indicates good taste and cleanliness. -150 to 250 ppm: Good – Acceptable for most people; moderate mineral content. -250 to 350 ppm: Fair – Still drinkable, but may start to affect taste depending on sensitivity. -350 to 500 ppm: Poor – Approaching the upper limit for drinking water quality; may not be desirable. -Above 500 ppm: Not recommended for drinking – Exceeds the EPA’s recommended limit for TDS in drinking water and may indicate the need for filtration or treatment. Please note that TDS meters measure the total concentration of dissolved solids but do not indicate the specific types of contaminants present. For a full analysis of water safety, further testing may be needed.

Worked as hoped
Strips worked fast. Helped me troubleshoot problems with my hot tub water balance and to determine which external faucets produced hard or soft water.

Good product
The batch expires soon after you open the bag. It’s an accurate product and works well. Just disappointing that they aren’t able to last a little longer when you purchase a large batch.
