Bright lil light for diving

This was a great purchase for a day dive light. Its quite bright to look in all those nooks and crannies. LED technology has really improved the light quality over the old incandescent or halogen which used battery quickly and the light was more amber. Although this light is very bright its not a night dive light, but great for a backup more like it. I believe most would prefer a beam that's wider spread / flood like, this is very focused. Not saying you couldn't, but I would prefer a flood. Battery life at full charge I used it on 2 close to hour dives then it began to dim. I had this on various 100+ft dives with out any leaks or flooding. I recommend you lube o-rings with a small bit of silicone grease and carefully thread on cap, aluminum housing can easily cross thread if not. The on/off switch can trip easily and a rubber band wrapped around a couple times can help alleviate that so you don't burn battery when in your bag or at depth, as others have discussed. I charge mine every night prior to dive so its fresh. Remove battery when storing or not using for extended time. Set came with charger, flashlight, lanyard, manual and a spare set of o-rings. Longevity unknown, but I have had mine for a few months now on 50+ dives and its still going strong. Not ideal for photography, needs defusing and will put a hot spot on subject as seen in pic attached. Overall I would recommend this light, great quality and value compared to dive shop at this point.

Well Made, dimmable, has a lockout function.

-Lockout function: I see people saying this light comes on in their back. However it has a very intentional design function to eliminate the problem. The threads on the tail end of the body and inside the tail cap are anodized, this means if you UNscrew the tail cap very slightly there will be no metal to metal contact and the light will not come on regardless of the switch position (see photos).-Dimmable: If you slide the switch quickly there is a delayed response. However you can just push the slider up part way and wait about 1 second it will come on it low. Or slight it to the top quick and then back down. I suspect that delay is because it uses a hall sensor switch (its magnetic) so the light is more waterproof. The low is not super dim, but it is noticeably less bright.-Rechargeable: Came with everything I needed to get started, including a 2000ma battery and charger.-Underwater: TBD will update with long term results.

A great cheap dive torch!

This little dive torch surprised the heck out of me. At a price point under $40dollars I thought I was wasting my money, but I’m happy to say it was $38 dollars well spent. Iv been on 25 dives with it so far and have not had a single problem with it. I did what the instructions said and greased the orings before the first dive and charged the battery that came with it. The first 3 dives with the light were all about an hour long and I did not go deeper than 30ft. Dive 4 and 5 the deepest depth was 45ft. And dives 6 through 8 I got down to 80ft. After that they were between 10ft and 90 foot dives All dives were about an hour long, each dive I paid close attention to see if the torch dimmed as the dive progressed and it really didn’t it may have been a little dimmer at the end of the dive but not really noticeable. I used the 18650 battery that came with the torch and also another from another torch Alternating them each dive. I charged them after each dive. The torch never flooded or showed any sign of water inside the torch after the dive. The brightness of the torch is very bright but I don’t think it really is 3000 lm But I have no way to test it. . I tried to use the charger that came with the torch but when it said the batt. was fully charged I switched the battery to one of my more higher end charger with a volt meter and it wasn’t fully charged it charged on the other charger for another 30 minutes. The leash is junk and the hole on the back of the light that the leash runs through is really small so I took a drill to it and made the hole a bit bigger and put a proper bolt snap on it. The Magnetic swivel switch seems a bit cheep they say you can rotate the switch in any direction clockwise or counter clockwise but you can tell it really only likes to go clockwise, but after a few dives it does feel a lot better and going in either direction doesn’t matter. The machining must have been not all that great on the switch and it needed to work it self in a bit. The threads for the battery cap could be cross threaded easily so you have got to be careful when you take the cap on and off and when I got my light there was still some aluminum shavings in the threads from when they were cut. So I had to clean it really good or it would have either messed up the threads or tore the orings and the light would flood. But in saying all that you are still getting a dive torch with over a 1000lm for $38dollars that works really good.I dive in water that has less than 6inches of visibility 95% of the time and I have used this light as my primary with my normal primary as a back up all season. It has not let me down yet. Besides for the few things iv said about it I can’t find one major thing wrong with it. For what I paid for it I love this torch.
