DO NOT BUY!!!
or buy it if you want to deal with repairs during 2 year and then to be left with heavy cost repairs!!It is obvious that product has defect in manufacturing. Coz everybody is complaining from the same default. Screen is faulty. And no matter how many times they repair or replace it fails again after a year(this is the warranty time for repairment!!).And ASUS is not accepting to repair again once its warranty expired.I sent it to repair 3 times. Imagine my daughter remained without laptop at school for weeks! One of the repairment was related to Camera. I was not able to reach Camera on laptop, it looks like not exist. Sent it to service. And at ASUS service report came out with: "LCD module replaced(No camera)". What do you understand from that? I understand they forgot to install camera!I am really disappointed with the product. Need to buy a new laptop now. This product failed on Charger adopter, Camera, Monitor, fan noise almost everything.I will check my Consumer rights with regards to this situation. It is defected product at the beginning and worked no good for the lifetime. Any comments or help highly appreciated..I am giving 2 stars because product has worldwide warranty and support service was responding

Stopped working after 10 months
Stopped working after about 10 months and had to be sent away for repair. Amazon were brilliant and handled the whole matter very smoothly. But I was disappointed that a repair should be needed after such a short time.

Daylight robbery - do not buy this machine
Update to reviews below downgrade from 2 stars to 1 star. Having already gone through the black screen nightmare, the hinges on this machine have gone, 1 year and 4 months after I bought it. Because the hinges have gone, the screen falls flat at certain angles. Because connective electronic tape runs from the monitor to the rest of the laptop through the hinges, it is interfered with by the busted hinges, which is causing screen fuzz and total outage. Local service shop says they'll have to send away to Taiwan for spare parts, which will take three weeks to get in. If like most people you only have one laptop at a time, you're pretty much screwed by Asus. I'm inclined to start a class-action lawsuit as by the looks of reviews it seems most customers did not get what they paid for, due to the negligence of Asus failing to to test their machines.____________Update to review below, and downgrade to 2 stars from 4. After liking the machine a lot I got the black screen too, after 10 months. Took it to my local repair shop who said it was a factory mistake causing incompatibility between BIOS and and Windows 10 leading to hardware malfunction. Called Asus, nice enough customer service, was able to send it back by courier at their expense under worldwide warranty (I live outside the UK where I bought it, so that was a relief). But whole process stole 2 weeks of my life. On return they didn't bother to write a full explanation of what happened, didn't bother to let me know with enough notice when it would be couriered back to my address, causing disruption. Instead I got a last-minute email from their chosen courier (UPS) giving me hardly any notice of their arrival. Of course I was away, so I raced back to my address, missed them on a Friday (UPS didn't bother to call me, apparently standard in the country where I am) so UPS left it at a pickup shop THAT WAS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY despite another one the same distance away being open the whole weekend. More time-wasting and stress. Laptop back and working for the time being but the whole thing was a horrible experience that would make me caution anyone using Asus or UPS. Sorry but that's the truth, I have had a Dell, two Samsungs, and a Phillips - none of this happened before with other laptops. I like the laptop now, but in fear of another fail. If anyone gets the black screen after warranty expires, that would be deeply unfair as this is clearly the fault of Asus not testing carefully enough at the factory. They cannot justify the current retail price of this model and ought to extend the warranty because of its well-documented problem. I remain grateful for their worldwide warranty.____________My priority was lightness for functionality and it delivers that. It really does weigh in at the advertised weight. Delivery was free and next-day thanks to a Prime trial. It looks beautiful (and came in beautiful packaging) and has a very glossy screen. I wasn't expecting to care about laptop speakers, but these are excellent and now I do. Start-up couldn't be easier, and the machine comes across as good value for the price I paid.I have some minor issues. I would have expected the £1300 start price to deliver a Samsung 900x series equivalent. Does it? I'm not yet sure. The screen is almost too shiny as it shows up every spec of dust and reflects white light like a mirror, actually causing visibility issues. The keyboard feels a little too plastic, the delete key is both identical to and adjacent to the power key (meaning you inadvertently switch off mid-work) as if the designers couldn't be bothered to attend to such a detail as a smaller and/or embedded power key. The machine already runs almost-hot and the fan starts immediately, emitting the sound of quiet, distant rain. By contrast my old Samsung 900x started silent, its fan was barely audible and only 5 years after purchase began to run hot. But maybe that's not an issue, perhaps I am nit-picking as I re-calibrate my personal laptop experience. All in all it's worth the current advertised price of £800.

Asus Zenbook
I love this laptop it is so slick, thin and light it is definitely easy on the eyes. The battery is my only concern, even though I kind of guessed this before I bought it. It is much better than any previous laptop I have owned but I expected it to be a better. Saying that, it charges up incredibly quick so this makes it better. The HD screen is amazing and so is the sound. The keypad is lovely to type on and mousepad has a nice feel to it too.

No good if you cant trust it
Lovely looking machine, keypad's great, speakers good, light and the battery life acceptable. But it's no good when the screen fails at just 8 months in. Credit to Asus though their global warranty is good (machine was repaired in UAE but bought in UK). The new screen is just as good as the old one looked but do I trust it?

Dreaded Black Screen
Bought this for our son, for university. This is a great looking laptop, very light, and slim - he was thrilled with it...at first.Great graphics and very little lag on most functions. All USB ports are micro usb, so they provide 2 x 4" micro usb to usb adaptor cables.Worked great for first 3 months, but then we got the dreaded black screen!Unit powers up and the fan can be heard working, but just a black screen. Went on line, and found this is a common fault for this machine - as per other reviews here.It can be connected to a remote monitor via a hdmi cable, and viewed through that using the f8 keyAmazon would not replace as it was 3 months old, so put us through to Asus - who would only offer to repair. They sent a courier to collect it, but they then had to wait for spare parts....!!!!Apparently it is a faulty LCD screen.Son without laptop at uni is not ideal as having to book time on Library PC's.Avoid!

Screen crashed in 13 months
I bought what I believed to be a top end product just over a year ago. I used it once a week to do invoice and send email, therefore didn't use it often. Now the screen is no longer working. Amazon worked through troubleshooting with me to no avail and put me onto Asus. They gave me disgusting service and wanted to charge me £45 just to look at it. It is now costing another £250. to replace the screen. Disgusting considering what the price of this laptop was. Expected a laptop that would at least last longer than a year.
