Palate: Busy delivery with the mildly waxy barley having much to say: spice prickle early on followed by some early chocolate toffee. An easy option 'bloke present'.
Amazon is the easiest and best option if you need "bloke presents". It'll take him a year to get through a bottle of whiskey but he's still fussy about it and this is a fav. Trying to find a specific one in a supermarket is a nightmare, & often it's out of stock or (this is typical for me) it'll look like it, the label will read like it, but there'll be some tiny subtle difference which only the initiated will understand(!!!!). Finding precisely the right thing on Amazon is much easier.

Great price and this is the nicest single malt I’ve had. Very smooth and this is not a smokey whiskey as I’m not not a fan of them. The bottle is really nice quality too. Have bought this twice now and will definitely buy again!
