Not strong enough.
The hold on this isn't quite strong enough. I would recommend Malin + Goetz as a primary choice for hair cream if you have thick/wavy hair; theirs has a solid hold and a fantastic smell. This hair cream works for those who have a tiny bit thinner hair.

Overated
Can't really see what the fuss is about. After a couple of hours or even a little wind it is like you never used it. Not entirely sure what purpose it serves.

Works well for me, good unisex product for fine, flyaway hair.
Having used a Toni and Guy styling cream for years that was no longer available, I was on the lookout for a lightweight , but effective, styling cream, and this one ticks all the boxes.Although it's packaged as being for men, I took a chance to see if it would work on my fine, flyaway hair, that's prone to frizzing. I have to say I was really impressed with the results.I do have quite thin hair, and there isn't a lot for the product to control, however. It is a thick cream, which means a little goes a long way, so it is reasonably economical. The reason that it isn't four stars is that although it is priced as an upper -end of the market product, the performance doesn't really reflect the price. It's good, but it's not wow. Being lightweight could also be seen as 'actually not that strong a hold', and generally, high-hold products are those with a higher price. I like it, but not enough to justify the high price. I've since discovered that T & G have a new product out, which will probably be my choice in the future.

Too light a hold
I'm of an age now where I don't want what's left of my hair to look saturated with product. I prefer the more natural look, but still appreciate the ability to style the mop a bit. On paper, this Baxter product looked perfect - light hold, shine-free, easy to wash out - and really it is all of those things, but perhaps even for me, too light. It doesn't seem to hold at all, although it does add a layer of product to my hair which makes it lie strangely - quite the opposite of groomed or styled. It's possible that that's just me.A major plus is that unlike most styling products, the Baxters didn't cause my scalp any irritation, so on that score, the lightness is appreciated. However, as it doesn't help style my hair, it's hard to recommend.

Review of the grooming cream
This is a grooming cream meant for reducing frizz, to help with mild hold and shine for a natural and neat look and it does that very well without any excess grease or stickiness. It also feels and smells good.It can be applied on towel dried hair or in combination with a blow dry and works well with both.Just note that if you are looking for a good and lasting hold, you should go for a product that is aimed for that purpose as this one wont do the job.

Quite nice cream
This is quite a nice cream. It comes in a tube with a secure lid/. I do find it difficult to get the cream from the tube but once it comes out it is fairly thick and white. As directed I rubbed some into towel dry hair and I like to come it through. I then styled my hair in my usual style. My hair has always been fine and fly away and age has made it quite sparse. This left my hair looking natural, not a lot thicker but certainly not flyaway and this lasted through a run (quite windy) and a hard workout in gym. My hair did not feel hard at all and although not as soft as normal there was a slight softness to it.

Not a very good grooming cream (particularly if you have thinner hair)
Thin, greasy, no hold. Not a very good grooming cream (particularly if you have thinner hair).Only good thing is that is has virtually no smell so would be good for someone who is very averse to scents.

Superb
My go to hair cream. Works great with even a small amount, doesn’t leave any grease. I have very thick hair that easily puffs up and goes nuts when dry. This cream is the best I’ve used so far. Already ordered another one just in case

3 comparisons
Great stuff. I tried, I feel like, the 3 most popular "luxury" grooming creams. V76, baxter and Malin Goetz.Baxter was great, very light hold. More water-based than the others (you can see in the video).ScentBaxter-It has a citrus scent, that is really just there to give it a smell. Not a huge fan (kind of reminded me of Lysol wipes), but it's clearly just meant to be a natural smell that won't put off those who don't like perfumes in hair products. Very light.Malin-Sage scent, little stronger than Baxter.V76-The best cologne scent I've ever smelled. Some type of cedar, it seems like a personal opinion but I loved it.ConditioningBaxter-The conditioning is great, I think a few notches behind Malin Goetz, which is a heavier cream. But it still feels great to touch just comes out slightly drier. The oils in the ingredient list, and shea butter are pretty low in the ingredient list with silicones at the top.Malin-Love it, perfect for my hair which is thin in the front, straight slightly wavy, little dry. I feel like it does the most of the 3, but can't say for certain till a few months of use. Silicones at top of the list, but also oils. Conditioning but also probably too greasy for some.v76-Eh, Not great, however, I think it's meant to be blow-dried. I only air-dried and it came out a bit hard and stringy. After breaking it up, it still didn't feel as great as the others. Didn't make me feel that the hair was being strengthened. It reminded me a lot of American Leave in Conditioner back in the day. Some ingredient betwen the two just does not agree with my hair or scalp, hard to explain, but just did not feel as good as for thinning hair, as if the roots are not as strong when I brush through. Has an aluminum starch as the top ingredient which I think explains it, makes hair look great but not feel great. Includes more exotic oils than the other too, not too far down the list so it's not all bad. Of course, it has silicones, like the others so make sure to shampoo hair often.V76 grooming cream though has an nice ingredient list, and acts somewhat the same way as the v76 styling cream.LookBaxter-The most natural look of the 3, lowest shine, no grease. Little stringy if too much is concentrated in one area. Extremely light weight though, good for those who dont want to weigh thinner hair down.Malin-Very good, but it is a thick cream so you're going to get somewhat of that look.v76-I only used it a few times, but this is probably where it shines. Looks like silk. I assumed it's supposed to be blow-dried, because once you break it up, it gives a really nice matte, shine.HoldNone of them, really, unless you're styling somewhat in the direction of where your hair falls. Malin is the best, with Baxter being last.ConclusionMalin - Oil/Silicone heavy, probably most conditioning. Sage can stimulate scalp. Least stringy, groups hairs, heavy but not enough to weigh hair down too much.Baxter - Very lightweight, somewhat conditioning, Silicone heavy. Good hold if blow dried into place before using. Natural look.V76- Beautiful look afterwards, albiet stringy, not very volumizing but not heavy. Stronger hold than the others. Ingredients at the top look more like a gel, i.e. polymers, but can be broken up after drying to look natural/satiny. Best look out of the 3 in terms of shine. Lots of exotic oils. Sunflower can be good for hair growth.

Light hold, no stickiness, mild scent
As some others mentioned, this cream has minimal hold and ideally I would like it a little stronger, but I still think it's a great product. I think of it more of a product for adding texture and helping you style, rather than a holding product. I have fine, straight hair and use it by running about a peanut sized amount through dry to damp hair and use a finishing hairspray to give the hold that's lacking from the cream on it's own. Through trial and error, I've found this to be the best combo to give the light texture and styling I want without looking greasy or having to work with an excessively sticky product. I've tried some other lightweight creams with more hold but they tend to really grip onto the hair during application, which I really don't like; the easy to apply products tended to weigh my fine hair down or end the day with greasy looking hair.

Very light weight, good w/ cream pomade
I've been buying BofC products for a few years now, specifically the clay and cream pomades. I recently grew my hair out to around 4 inches, and it was getting difficult to tame with just the cream pomade because of how thick the cream was. This grooming cream was too light weight to hold my (thick, wavy) hair in place, but when mixed with the cream pomade, it was perfect. Much easier to work through my hair, with almost as much hold as the cream pomade by itself. Just be careful not to use too much grooming cream, it'll make your hair look a little wet/shiny instead of "natural" like it says.

Not the one and only, but a killer for the arsenal
Goes on easy, don't have to use very much at all, and smells great. I have thick, wavy hair and this stuff is solid for a primer before I blow dry it out and apply my primary hair stuff. I don't particularly dig the pomade effect or the matted down just got out of the shower going to the club and smelling like a magazine cologne ad look, but rather just need something to tame the mane. Depending on your hair style, I wouldn't rely on this to be my primary product but if you use several to get it all geared the way you want it, this stuff is arguably the best to begin with.

Great Product!
I’m not a “hair product” guy. I don’t want my hair stiff, slick, waxy, etc. This stuff gives a bit of control, yet leaves hair feeling soft and natural. It even smells good - pleasant, not perfumed. Perfect.

Stinks and doesn’t do anything noticeable
First of all, this stuff smells bad. It’s like a smoky and sour scent. Not good at all. Even worse, it doesn’t seem to provide any hold at all. I do have very thick hair, so maybe it’d work on thin hair.

Nice, but there’s better.
Love the product, but it’s pricy for 3-4 wks of product. Johnny B Street Cream works just as well and a little goes a long way, with a better hold. It lasts longer, too.

Light/ medium hold
My husband is growing out his hair and was looking for something that had enough hold without making his hair brittle. This did the trick. Easy to work with and has a light pleasant scent. He also uses it to tame flyaways
