I am currently creating a Frankenbike, I.e., a bike made of components not normally found together.The frame, however, is readily identifiable as a 1990s single speed track bike originally equipped with 23c wheels.And while the wheelset itself is still usable it does show some age so I opted for a completely new wheelset.These are 45mm dish wheels and that is nearly identical to the 40mm wheels that came with the bike. These, though, are gold while the originals were just aluminum with no accents.Included tires are Kenda, no idea as to the tube manufacturer. Valves are Presta, as you might expect for skinny, high pressure tires. You can count on replacing at least the tires within a few hundred miles.To be fair, the tires alone would probably cost you at least $30 each and another $20 just for the tubes.Although aluminum, these are no lightweight wheels; however, they are well within the light-middleweight category. They were originally designed for the Golden Cycles Saint, a fixie bike still sold by the company. That’s just a statement of fact and not meant to be derogatoryUnfortunately, the anodized surface will show wear quickly as the brake pads grind it down, but that’s the price you pay for painted or anodized wheels. Oddly enough, the set with the machined brake groove does not come with tires or tubes.The included freewheel and fixed gear are essentially stock originals for the Saint bike. Serviceable but will undoubtedly need replacing down the line. Will admit that the freewheel is surprisingly quiet for being on the inexpensive side of things.Also surprising was the fact that the wheels were true straight out of the box. That’s a biggie considering I can’t remember the last time I received a true set of wheels. And that counts some expensive setups.My only issues involved installation of the front tire and limited bolt clearance on the back.As for the front tire, I’m not going to ding anything for it not fitting. The fork is carbon fiber and, apparently, it comes with openings strictly for QR (quick release) hubs. I may attempt to replace that standard bolt assembly down the line.Concerning the rear bolt clearance, there is hardly any. Once I torque down the nut there is barely any bolt thread sticking out. Some may prefer that but it leaves little wiggle room should a bolt come loose in the future.If all goes well and you already have a fixie (single speed road and track bike), these should just slide in and off you go (after you bolt them in, of course).Pricing is okay given that these were below $100 just a couple years ago. Inflation is here, folks.Here’s a curiosity in the pricing, though. Bike tires of any decent quality run about $60 a pair and that’s on the cheap end. You’ll actually pay that much EACH for a quality set of tires and good tubes will run you about $10 each.So, in essence, I get not only the tires and tubes but the wheels for less than what it would cost to replace just the rubber.Go figure.

Ordered the CNC blue wheels. They look super sharp on my silver frame. The description says the CNC wheels do not come with tubes and tires, mine did. The wheel bearings seem very smooth but I haven’t gone on a very long ride with them yet. I will update if anything changes.

Due to poor storage this past winter, the old wheels on this bike rusted and each had at least 4 or 5 broken spokes. Not salvageable. New wheels were in order.I would give 5 stars for the new wheels but packaging was really bad. Damaged box, no padding whatsoever, just loose wheels inside. I was expecting the worst. But to my surprise, the wheels were not only intact but surprisingly straight. I worked in a bicycle shop for 10 years eons ago and I’ve rarely seen wheels this straight on a new bike out of the box. Just minor adjustments. I was pleasantly surprised. Quality is exactly what I was expecting. It’s a fair price for a fair product. The bike feels like new even tho it’s 10 years old. I would recommend these.

I'm not a professional cyclist. Just a hobby. I built a fixie. I rode today like 25 miles. Everything great. Comes with tires tube and sprockets. Fast shipping no issues. Packed very well. I'll try to post pic

I love the color of these rims but that's about as far as I can go with it. Both rims came with issues. Had to be taken to a local bike shop right out of the package to be trued. The back rim has not been able to be corrected even after having two different shops try to correct the issue.

good fixie wheel set. i got the chrome.

I set it up as a fixed gear. First time I tried to ride the bike the fixed gear cog ripped the threads. There was metal shavings from the threads coming off.

Lots of compliments on the color. Came in perfect working order, in the correct color and have a great ride. Very happy with my choice.
