Modified to work off landscape transformer instead of solar
I really like the look of these lights but the plastic solar panels don’t last very long before they cloud up, resulting in a non-functional light. So, I modified them to work off of my 12 volt landscape lighting transformer that powers other 12 volt LED lights in my backyard.First, I built the posts shown in the attached pictures to mount them on. I used a couple of pressure treated 2x4’s and cedar fence boards to make the posts. One 2x4 and one cedar fence board can make two of the posts shown in the pictures. Total cost for the wood was $7 for two posts. I finished the posts with paint.Next, I purchased some small 12 volt panel lights that have four LED’s on each panel (see attached picture). These are generally sold for use in cars and RV’s since they are 12 volts DC, but they work fine off of a landscape transformer. They come ten to a set here on Amazon and cost $10 for the set. Each panel light of four LED’s uses two watts, so they give off a lot more light than the original solar fixture with its single LED. The panels are about 1 ½” x 1 ¾”I pulled off the top piece that contains the battery and single LED off of the solar fixtures and discarded it. I then mounted one of the four-LED panel lights inside, drilled a hole through the back of the solar fixture and the post to run the wires.Used a bit of concrete to anchor the posts in an upright, vertically level position after digging a hole for each one. Ran some landscape wire to the first one and then to each adjacent post from there, connected the wires, and I was done.No more clouded up solar cells and I was able to place the lights in the shade, since they don’t require sun to charge any batteries. They automatically come on at dusk along with all my other LED lights I have in the yard. One other thing I did to the fixtures was add some diffusion to the glass. I didn’t like the clear glass look where the light came from a single point. There are four screws on the back of the fixture. After removing them, the glass front and side pieces could be removed and traced onto a sheet of 1/100” thick polypropylene lamp shade plastic. The plastic cuts easily with scissors. I reinserted the glass pieces into the fixture and slid the cutout plastic pieces along the inside of each one for a completely diffused look. The semi-opaque plastic from gallon milk bottles and water bottles also works but is not as diffused as polypropylene.

Great lighting for the Fence
These lights are great for fence lighting and some areas on the home that could use some lights. They typically hold a charge and stay light at night for about 4-6 hours. I bought quite a few of these and have extras. I have several that don't seem to hold a charge very long, though. I have changed the batteries. I have extras so I can swap them out if I need to. If I need more of these I would definitely buy them again. I found that my neighbor has them now, too.

Paradise Solar 4 LED Accent Lights 10 Lumens Cast-Aluminum Outdoor Decor
I was looking for accent light for my backyard. I had purchased the Paradise Solar 4 LED Accent Lights 10 Lumens Cast-Aluminum Outdoor Decor for my house that we had sold last year. When we moved to our new home, I could not find these at Costco anymore. I found them on Amazon and purchased two (2) boxes to see how they would work. They worked out great and I proceeded to by two more boxes. The lighting is not too bright but enough for light the pathway. I am kind of disappointed in the number of hours that that stay on. During the winter and the time exposed to the sun, they last about 4 hours. I am hoping that during the summer when the exposure to the direct sun light may be longer, that will stay on longer.UPDATE 6 Months Later4 of the lights have failed. I tried changing the batteries and they will not charge. I have had other sets that have lasted longer than two years. I am dissapointed in the quality of this product and will ask for a replacement or refund.

Beautiful night time light!
These solar lights are glass so the value was truly there! I love the night time glow they provide. Very easy to install make sure to use the guide provided and a level! It appears I had a defective light in each box....1 out of 4. I tried to change the batteries, use different brands...nothing worked. I bought an additional box for this purpose. But, for the cost, it was worth it. I installed them on a vinyl fence and even the installer who came back to address some issues with the fence was impressed!!!

Let there be light!
We’ve had these for about year 1/2. They work great, easy install, solid construction made of tempered glass and metal.Just keep in mind these are solar so depending the time of year they will get more sun and be brighter. During the winter we have to remove them and place them in the sun to charge. In the summer we leave them as is. They stay lit for hours.Another thing they come with their own batteries you just have to pull the clear tab located on the inside at the top. We didn’t realize and purchased additional batteries.Great purchase, also bought some for mom and dad. They love them too!

only okay
I love these lights but i keep getting lights that dont work. My first order I had one that didn't light at all. Then received an order that worked perfectly, then a few week later (and now) there is just one light that won't light. Now last night it flickered for a few minutes, then went out permanently again. It's in complete sun, same as lights that DO work. It's too bad, i'd love to give 5 starts because they are very nice.Paradise? Any ideas ??

Nice Decorative Lights
Purchased these to go on our back fence that receives full sun. They look great and provide nice ambient light. However, we had a party last weekend for my son’s 18th birthday and my husband hung cafe lights and while sitting in the yard with friends, I noticed none of the lights were on. I was bummed. I went out this evening to take pictures for this review and turned the cafe lights on and was disappointed to see only 1 of the lights was on. As I was walking back into the house, it dawned on me that maybe the cafe lights were bright enough to make them think it was daylight...I turned the lights off, and what do ya know...they came on! :). I have two more boxes to hang on our side fence, too.

Worked great for one season...
These lights are nice and did their job for one summer season, but the panels wore down with the heat and sun and we eventually threw them away. They're cheap enough to buy another set, so look at it like a subscription; one box will last 1 year. It appears that nothing lasts forever nowadays... sad.

AVOID
Great product. Well made, good light! Will be ordering moreEDIT! Stopped working already, for something that is designed for the outside I would expect them to last longer than they have. Changed the batteries and nothing so clearlyThe solar panel is dead. Do not buy this product - waste of money!
