Hope for Today

My recovery blanket and bible when I started attending Al-Anon.I find it best to get out of the AM (Al-Anon Mind of taking other people’s inventory) by getting my RPM’s (Reading-Prayer-Meditation) going first thing in the morning. 21+ years later, I still read Hope For Today every day.

I've had this book for 8 years. I read it daily, fall off, do it again.I'm unexpectedly at my childhood home taking care of my mom for over a month. (It's no joke being here and I'd be a WAY bigger mess than I am - just not taking great care of myself eating/exercising wise - if I hadn't put in all my years in Al Anon).I bought a copy of this beloved book to have and leave here.

Read this daily and have for quite sometime.Meant for Adult Children of Alcoholics and used for Alanon groups. Such simple concepts for complicated people. Can’t say enough on how it has transformed my life.

It has solutions for every area of my life. It is talking to me. I relate to the experiences of the writer, too. And use the tools it suggests just for today. In doing it even halfway, not even perfect, I get noticeable results every time I use these tools. It reminds me I’m not alone. And I am being lead by a higher power, if I am willing to let go and let God. Simple, but hard. Just do it and see your beautiful results of life transforming miracles happen before your eyes. Sometimes quickly sometimes slowly. The key is willingness, for me.

This little book gives us inspiration on a daily basis. I use it first thing in the morning upon awakening, reading the daily inspirational words, it never fails to make my day just a bit better with hope for tomorrow.
