Very good upgrade to onboard gpu
I'm giving 5 stars for the card itself -- from installation to boot-up the card performed better than expected. It was recognized immediately in the Device Manager, and rather than use the CD I went straight to the Nvidia website to get the most recent drivers - the entire process took less than 10 minutes. The improvement in video streaming from the internet was very noticeable from the Intel onboard graphics processor. So the card is an excellent, economical upgrade to my PC. HOWEVER...my Lenovo PC came with Windows 8.1 (which sucks) and a 180w psu (which sucks even more). Replacing the PSU is necessary to run the card, but requires a 20+4-to-14 pin adapter (Lenovo got really sneaky with their proprietary mobo design). This mod has created all kinds of issues which I've spent countless hours trying to pinpoint (including driver updates on every internal piece of h/w) but my PC just isn't stable. I'm offering this as a warning for anyone planning on installing this card in a Lenovo desktop that's running Windows 8 -- prepare for issues. Lenovo is notorious for putting tiny power supply units in their desktops, so if you want to upgrade to a PCIe card you'll invariably have to put in a bigger PSU (with the 20+4 power adapter). In summary, the GeForce card gets a strong review, but take caution if you plan on installing it in a Lenovo. Will provide an update if any of the issues are resolved once I upgrade to Windows 10.20 Aug 2015 update: upgraded to Windows 10 last week, replaced the 500W psu w/ a 750W 80+ Bronze and have seen improvements in both speed and image quality. That's all on the GPU and Windows 10; the Lenovo piece of this is still unresolved -- even with Win10, there are stability issues: constant freezing, lengthy boot times, and other performance issues. The aforementioned caution still applies: expect issues if you install this on a Lenovo desktop.

Constantly crashes.
I hate to write this negative review because I normally love GeForce cards. However I am growing to hate this one. I have tried everything I know to do to make this card work, but it just constantly crashes every few minutes of simple video playback or having two or three IE windows open at once. At first the driver would recover rather quickly, only about 15 to 30 seconds. Now today it all of the sudden just completely quits and I have to hard reset my computer because I have no display and it doesn't recover any longer. Think I am going to have to return. Tired of rolling drivers forward and backward, pulling card in and out, install uninstall... just work!UPDATE03/02/2016Okay, got the card stable... Has been running crash free since Feb. 26. Finally it was adding two registry entries manually that fixed the crashing issue.Things that I tried before complaining:Fresh Windows 7 Pro 64 install fully updatedA dozen different driversUpdated all firmwareInstalled 16GB new RAMUpgraded from a core 2 duo E8400 3.0 "Wolfdale" to a core 2 quad Q9650 3.0Ghz "Yorkfield"Tried installing card and uninstalling card, both by software and manual removalTried multiple resolution settings ect.. through the nvidia control panelSeems like there is one more thing I am failing to mention but may have been so minor it wasn't worth mentioningAnyhow card is now working great for what I need it for. I playback .264 and HEVC .265 codecs. That is the most graphics intensive as I get. The card fits great in my HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF. I want to say that the card slot next to it is still accessible though I wont swear to it without opening my case. Both of those are a big plus because there doesn't seem to be a large selection of cards that aren't space hogs.Works great for a budget card with my space limitations. It was just a hassle stabilizing the software end. Don't know why the install cd didn't include the registry entries. I would give this card a 5 star if it weren't for all of the frustrations. Hope this helps someone out.UPDATE 12/02/2016Youtube video with instructions:[...]This is another possible fix, not the one i used however. It is reported to fix the problem as well.[...]Updated to 3 stars because I got it to function. Would have given it 5 if not for the headache of manual registry modifications.
