Tastes pretty much like you'd expect... I was looking for a no carb coating to use in cooking... No such luck...

We've been using this with Annie's shells & white cheddar to doctor them up. This is also great on popcorn and a host of other uses. Great tasting.

Too salty!

UPDATED REVIEWI now buy one of these a month, and get this size because it's cheaper. Currently, Hoosier Hill's larger bags of white are no cheaper per pound.Powders inside boxed macaroni and cheese taste different depending on the brand you buy. This powder is on par, or better with anything you get in the boxes. The salt in this is not overpowering, and is actually useful for sauces.The reason I haven't broken down and got the much cheaper orange powder is because there's a different ingredient list, and I didn't like what was in it. In fact, every one of HH's powders has a different ingredient list. They do have a "Premium" white in the pound container, but it's way too expensive to be plopping into pasta. In my opinion.My original review stated that I could not tell the difference between the white and orange. I did a side-by-side taste test using just the powders mixed with milk. The problem now is... I don't remember what ingredients were in each when I tried them, and whether HH changed those ingredients since then.

This is the second time we ordered the white cheddar cheese. The first was a smaller container. It was great. Good flavor fluffy texture just like the orange we have ordered many times. This batch has a different texture it is small granules like salt and the flavor is no where need as good.

Without a doubt... This is the secret to duplicate that white cheddar popcorn you'd buy at the store. Yes, it costs a few bucks but a little goes a LONG way... Far further than what I'd pay to buy cheddar corn in bags at the store. For a perfect match to that store bought cheddar popcorn... stove pop your corn in the uncolored coconut oil with a dash of Flavacol added. Dump into a PAPER bag and immediately dust while tossing with the white cheddar powder so it sticks to it. Eat right away or allow to fully cool and then pack in ziplock bags to eat later. It lasts for many days when sealed in plastic bags just as the store-bought does.

Makes fantastic white cheddar popcorn. The mac and cheese trial ended up tasting a bit more like alfredo than I was anticipating but still great stuff.

This is a great addition to those who want a long term food storage pantry. Very tasty! especially on Ramen noodles.***Update: this is an ingredient in the best Ramen I have ever made (and I've made many dishes of Ramen beginning back in my barracks days). I bought the largest container and immediately transferred the contents to a few mason jars with Ox' absorbers so that I can rotate them out as needed; extending the shelve life of this product.
