This cable looked great and worked great, right up until the point it tried to burn my house down. I noticed my iPhone was getting a bit warm where the cable connects to the lightning jack. So I unplugged it thinking it was just a glitch in the iphone’s charging system. I left the cable on the floor.When I came from work 8 hours later, I found the melted blob pictured. I have no doubt that if I had left the cable on a flammable surface it would have started a fire.If you have these cables, do not leave them plugged in unattended.

Was great. Then it wasn't. 3 months later, it stopped charging. No kinks, no tears. Still in mint condition, but won't charge. I have original apple cords that are fraying that I've taped up with electrical tape that still work 2 years later.So frustrated with these cords. I thought if I spent more it would last longer. Bought 2 and both are broken. Maybe if I collect enough of them I can macrame a plant hanger with them.

I ordered this because the info indicated that this is an Apple Certified product. After 2 weeks of intermittent use (on a table in my living room) I got the dreaded “this accessory may not be supported” pop up. No worries... ish happens and I requested a replacement. Received that today and I am getting the same pop up with the new cable. No other cable (both Apple and certified products) are doing this. Add to this the fact that now I can only get an Amazon gift card as a refund.

I was very pleased with the quality of the product as I received it. But after about one week of charging it became intermittent for a couple of days and then stopped working. I think it is important to point out that this cord is in one location, I sit my phone on a table surface and let it charge all night. So no moving, no using it while connected or such. I also an not the type of person that unplugs it by pulling on the cored or such. This just proved to me that they cord was either defective as received or poor quality (or maybe a combo of both). Now it is much cheaper than an APPLE cord, but I would expect more. Wish it would have done better....I had I hopes being an Amazon product!

Buyers beware! I had this cable for 5 days, last night phone was plugged in and I started to smell something like a burning plastic smell. I went to unplug the phone and the cable was EXTREMLY hot , hot enough to burn your hand when touching. When I went to unplug the cable from the phone I also received a shock from the end of the cable. Not suppose to happen!!

I needed a new lighting cord, especially a longer one (6 feet) so I bought this one in thoughts that the Nylon will make it last longer since that's the idea with nylon braided cables. At first sight and opening the package, it was seemed like it was good quality and it seemed like it was going to be promising but it actually doesn't work. I've plugged it into my charging block which came with my iPad and left it for an hour and when it was time to get up and go, I realized it only charged a couple percentages. Not too long after, it wouldn't even charge, nor would my phone even recognize that it was plugged in. I've used the regular iPhone charging block and nothing happened. I had to go back to using my old frayed cable for the mean time. I guess I just received a defective one?

I had high hopes for this lightning cable as the majority of the reviews were positive and mentioned that it didn't end up fraying after a short amount of time until it just stopped working or became unsafe to use. I use it with no problems for about 3 weeks, and then it started getting kind of temperamental about how the cable had to be positioned which made for some interesting solutions for charging my phone. Still, there was no obvious damage or fraying and the cord looked to be fine, so I continued to use it even if it was slightly annoying to sometimes have to spend some time finding the right position for the cable in order to charge my phone.About 3 1/2 weeks ago, I started noticing some obvious fraying of the braided cord near where it plugs into the iPhone and it inevitably became too temperamental to even bother using it to charge at all. I've now switched back to an Amazon Basics lightning cable and am hoping that one lasts longer than this one did.I did give it two stars because even though it didn't last very long and became unusable rather quickly, when it was working normally it was great, and I do love the way it looks. I don't know if my situation is a fluke, because like I said, I know most of the reviews are positive, but my experience was not. I chose to pay extra for a product I expected to last longer than a few months in lieu of buying the Amazon Basics one that I would normally use, so I'm disappointed that it didn't really live up to the standards in both the reviews and its own description.

I am very disappointed with this purchase. I bought AmazonBasics chargers for each of my family members in December and in March several of the chargers have stopped working are are not recognized by any of our numerous Apple devices. It's not an overuse issue as the one charger just sits in my office at work rarely used.

I bought this product on 31st August 2017, meaning it's almost been a year and I got the 6 feet Dark Grey model.Let me firstly say that I'm giving this product a 3 star rating just because we don't get the option to rate a product 2.5 stars on Amazon. And also because this product could stay alive for almost an year, which is a lot these days.Though the delivery of the product from Amazon was blazing, I would like to specifically mention that this is an Amazon Basics product.It's served me very very well for way over 11 months and trust me when I say that I use all my products with utmost safety. I've charged multiple Apple products with this cable and the charging speed is what they promise it to be.I don't know if it's the case with every Apple product cable or just for iPhones but they have a specific period of doing well after which they start to act weird. The connected/disconnected symbol keeps going on and off after one point.That basically is the sign for the customer to understand that it's about time to get yourself a new charging cable.Until you procrastinate in getting that new cable, the performance of this cable keeps going down where you'll slowly have to start handling this cable extra carefully while putting your phone for charge, you have to connect the phone, wait till you see the charging is on and then slowly place it down on the table and make sure it's still charging.Another tiring thing that you may have to do is keep checking on it every 30 mins and see if it's charging at all, or if the speed of the charging is okay etc etc.Tip: When the procrastination period is on, make sure you switch the side of the cable, I mean reverse it and use for longer usage periods. I've done it, I'm sure you all should too.Well it's my time to get that new cable for my phone.Adios.

This wire didn’t even last for 2 months, I am very dissapointed as I chose Amazon basic product at a higher price over other cheaper similar product and it didn’t even last 2 months, on top of that no one answers the the customer care number provided for this product by Amazon customercare.I would request you to please replace my wire and don’t cheat people with an inferior product.

何本もセットになっているやつで安いのは注意！！！！レビューをよく見てください。日本語がおかしいのがたくさんあります。そういう商品は最初は使えてもすぐに充電できない等の支障が出てきたりして、「1本ダメになったけど安かったし、まだ他のがあるから別に良いかな」と思わせるための商法です。本当は100円ショップで買えるくらいの材質でしかありません。数か月ほどで使えなくなるのと何年も使えるやつで考えましょう。多少高く感じても、この先何年も考えるとコストも、再購入などの面倒さを考えても信用できるやつを買った方がいいでしょう。

I recently purchased two of these chargers. After using one of them for about four consecutive nights charging my phone, on the fifth night I was woken up BY A FLAME WHERE THE CHARGER WAS PLUGGED INTO MY PHONE. I immediately unplugged the charger, the case on my phone was charred black and both connection points of the charger were incredibly hot. This leads me to believe that the conductors in these chargers are not suitable current that travels through them. THIS PRODUCT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and Amazon seriously needs to respond accordingly.

All my non-Apple cables started to display the message on iPhones and iPads that they were unsupported and would no longer charge the device. Apple want £20 for the cable and another £20 for the block. Luckily for all the broken cables and non-runners we have plenty spare. I bought 3 of these together and they work perfectly. Amazons own brand, but I'm impressed. They have thought about the design, so a strengthened neck for inserting into the port (3 standard apple charges of mine have broke in this way), fabric cable for strength and the extra length @ 1.8m for £1 extra was well worth it over the usual 0.9m. Best non-apple cable I've ever bought and have also bought another 2.
