Extra parts, compact folding, pretty solid
It was nice that it came with 2 sets of propeller guards, 2 sets of propellers, and a mini screw driver to open the controller battery.First time flying: read the manual! It’s not more or less difficult than other drones I’ve flown. I’d strongly suggest calm air and using the trim functions to get it to fly level before flying around a lot. I bought it for my 8 year old. In an open area, he could get the hang of it fairly well.Connecting it to my phone made it fairly easy to use and was a fun extra feature to see it first person.Flight time was just okay. It’d be nice to get 10+ minutes out of it before it starts beeping at you that it’s about to die, but I guess that’s just what you get.

Not bad for the price. Needs more propellers.
This drone is fast. Super fast, even on the lowest setting which is cool when combined with the FPV. There is NO VR like stated in the description, thats why im giving it 4 stars. Battery lasts longer than expected 8 - 9 minutes. Im very disappointed in the lack of VR in the DC-014 app. Its literally just an app update to allow VR mode, no drone updates.Any way the drone has a lot of drift, since its fast to begin with timing the turns are key as it will drift in the current flow. It handles more like a racing drone, i like it but have crashed a lot. When you crash the propellers fly off, so i have been able to fly this a total of 2 times before i lost the propellers. No where to buy more.

Outstanding customer service... drone = not so easy... but it's fun.
Summary: first Ninja was wonky, Drocon--whose customer service is top-notch-- replaced it (yay!), and the Ninja is a handful for a raw beginner (me). The first one had 2 unfortunate aspects -- it would rapidly drift off, even indoors with no air movement, faster than you could respond after auto-takeoff... and, worse, it would randomly leap away at high speed in whatever direction it wanted after 2-3 minutes of flying time.I worked with an army of customer service reps who were outstanding: Edward, Jezza, Yvonne, Nikko, and anonymous. After reasonable proof that my Ninja was indeed ill, Drocon sent me a replacement. The replacement is reasonable and responsive. These drones are miniaturized chip-driven bundles of advanced physics. Motor speeds are constantly changed and monitored internally to make it move forward, back, side, rotate, and flip, all under radio control. It likes to shed its propellers during crashes. So far I have found exactly NONE of the ones that left the mothership, and as a crash-prone, raw beginner, I rapidly ran out of spares. Drocon and other DC-014 drones no longer seem to sell propellers. After some research, I found a solution -- 55mm 2-blade propellers -- see my answer in the Customer questions & answers for this listing, about where to obtain replacement props... and what you need to do to make them fit the motor shafts on the Ninja.A few points:-If you're a raw beginner, you have to keep it very simple at first. Take off, hover as close to one spot that you can, land.-Work very slowly toward being able to control it if it's headed away from you. Unless you have it under headless control, the joysticks are backward. Pushing the right stick forward sends the drone back to you, to the left it slides right. Fortunately up and down remain up and down...-I find it a quick mover, very fast for a raw beginner. I've watched some videos of expert pilots with the Ninja and clearly the thing is moving VERY fast for them -- no doubt at the highest speed setting. I have yet to move off of the default "slow" setting, which is still too fast for me.Altogether, it's a fun or exciting thing to fly (fun when you're controlling, exciting to the point of panic when you're fingers are confused on the controls).I'm still working on putting the the auto-land button into my muscle-memory... so I don't have too much of this "excitement" and more of the fun.

Excellent customer service
My 11 year old son bought this drone with his own money and was very excited for its arrival. The drone is very easy to set up, however learning to fly it is very tricky. May be we had a fluke but on his third trial, having owned it only hours, it flew off on its own never to be found. he was devastated. However, I contacted customer Service, and Nikko, was able to look up our order and sent my son out a new drone! The company’s customer service is excellent, easy to contact, and very quick! I have one happy kid! Glad they have such great customer service!

My Experience
I bought this drone for my son and I to play with. We took it out and played with it and it worked great the first couple days. For the price you couldn't get a better drone. But hen, I went back to use it again and it wouldn't work at all. I was very frustrated with that fact so I went on their company website and found that they have a 12 month warranty. After filling out the warranty and chatting with a customer service rep. I was able to show them the problem and they sent me a replacement drone free of charge to replace the defective one. I was disappointed the drone broke but the customer service was absolutely amazing.

Easy to use and versatile
Our 9yo hasn't stopped using it since he got it - glad we got an extra battery pack! Very easy to use. He likes that he can do stunts, how fast it can go and is a great size for inside or out. One touch take off and landing is ACTUALLY one touch. Stunt mode was an added bonus. The included replacement parts were much appreciated as he decided to push the ninja's limits - frequently. This isn't our first drone - but the first one we've been happy with. I've already recommended it to friends who have been looking for a decently priced drone that actually works. Only draw back is that the phone connection has a shorter range than the RC.**Update** I reached out to Drocon for parts number for blades - and they replaced them at no additional cost to us even though it was our fault we had gone through them all due to stunt flying. The online chat was fast and easy to use. Would definitely buy again from this company
