Lasted 5 Months
Bought these in April for $200 and lasted until September. Both boots ripped on the side where I've never had boots rip ever. I wear these for work in a warehouse and they did not last at all. $200 should get you well over a year of comfortable use. What irritates me more is I've been trying to get these replaced and Lowa does not answer any support. Not one message has been returned going on a month. Stay away from these boots and this company. I will never purchase a Lowa product again.

Very disappointing!! Appear to be a high quality shoe but are NOT
Update: I have had the shoes just over a year and I am sad to report that the uppers have partially detached from the lower on both the left and right shoes, making the claim "waterproof" a joke. These were not inexpensive shoes and I expected them to last more than 1 year!! (Actually shoes started to breakdown after about 11 mos). I do not even use them for any serious hiking and still they performed poorly!! Very disappointed and cannot recommend. The same performance can be gotten from a $75 pair.I received the Renegade II's about a week ago and so far I'm impressed. They are very good looking shoes, fit perfectly, are very comfortable and are stable on uneven terrain. Most importantly, they have kept my feet dry!! My last pair of hiking shoes were Tevas and the waterproofing failed after about six months as the upper slightly separated from the sole. The Lowas seem to be of higher quality (as well as price) and I'm hoping that they stay together for far longer. I will update...

Not as comfortable as Merrell's but a grippier sole
The last 6 years or so I've had Merrell's and have really liked them but the styles this year for the Moab Ventilator GTX looked exactly like the ones I had and wanted something a little different. The soles are stiff in comparison, but not bad or uncomfortable, just not as cushy as Merrell's. One thing that is much better than Merrell's is the sole is way grippier which is cool. The tongue is completely attached so when you tie them you need to be careful it doesn't crimp weird and create a lump that jams the top of your foot all day until you adjust it. But that should give better water protection although I've stood in flowing water in my Merrell's and never had leakage even with my shoe partially submerged above the start of the tongue. The back of the heel fits a bit looser than I am used to. It doesn't really slip but your heel does go up and down in the back more than I am used to. I ended up trying down a half and full size down from my normal size and all exhibited the same movement.

Finally- A Hiking Shoes I can get away with wearing to work
Got them right before a trip to Europe, over 6 days I walked 72.67 miles (154,078 steps) on cobblestones in Amsterdam, Bruges, and Paris and on uneven wet rocks/wet grasses/mud puddles in the hills or Ireland. Max day was 19 miles, and my feet were dry for the entire trip. No hotspots, no sore feet, with one exception. If I tied the shoes too tight the pressure from the top two eyelets on the top of my arch would start to hurt. Retying them so they weren't cinched super tight at the top eyelets fixed that issue perfectly. I don't consider that a design flaw, I'm just used cinching full size hiking boots extremely tight and needed to re-adjust my technique.

less than 1 year old and coming apart
This is my second pair of Lowa's GTX LO "hiking" shoes. First pair I wore into the ground - very happy with them. This pair was purchased mid August 2016. They have only had modest wear compared to my usage of the first pair and are now splitting apart where the upper joins the sole - not surprising as it looks like less than a millimeter was ever bonded along this seam. For the high $$$ (>US$200) this is pretty poor. So although I have had no problem with a previous pair one star for this purchase and what I guess is highly variable and shoddy production values - hit or, in this case, miss.

Not as well made as they used to be.
I have been getting these for quite a few years. The latest pair did not hold up anywhere near as long as they used to. Very expensive to wear out so quickly. The soles wore through and I thought about replacing them, but the interior of the shoes also wore through and the padding starting coming out. I wish the manufacturing of these had remained constant-I would have replaced them again. Now I am looking for something else.

Excellent Shoe!
Excellent shoe and good traction. I normally wear a size 12 4E, but I bought a size 13 2E to make sure I had the width I needed. Along with cushioned socks, the fit is nearly perfect - plenty of toe wiggle-room which I need. It could be just a tad snugger in the rear, but it's not a problem. My only nit is where the Gore-tex lining is stitched to the upper part of the shoe that is a bit rough to the touch. It can be slightly irritating when walking, but it's easily ignored nonetheless and will probably go away after using the shoe more.

Very durable
Great quality hikers. I’ve owned these for 4.5 years and they are still waterproof, the sole is worn but still solid. The black color on the leather faded slowly after years or abuse. The insoles they came with aren’t the best for comfort. I replaced them with redwing insoles and the comfort level was great. They have seams that run down through the toes from where the laces end and I found the seam to rub from time to time. Overall, I’m happy with the quality, durability, and comfort.
