It's distributed from Colorado, but where is it imported from?

The sugar comes from the country of Colombia and is grown and packaged there. The company that owns/buys the sugar is based here in the US in Colorado.

I want to make homemade Tia Maria and the recipe called for this - anyone have an opinion if this would be good to use?

I would say yes. It would probably by close to what was used in the original recipe. I use this sugar in my own chocolate and also caramel syrup.

Is this granulated or solid?

it is like a fine sand, similar to a bag of dried brown sugar. It is NOT solid block or chunks.

Are any chemicals added in the process of manufacturing this sugar from the sugarcane juice ?
