The Only Repellent that Really Works!
I've been battling deer and voles for over 20 years and have spent a fortune on repellents of all kinds. This product is the only one that works reliably! I treated my hostas last summer after having lost over 40 plants, and this year, the voles literally go around the hosta roots and the deer have eaten plants they don't typically eat but haven't touched the hostas in the same area...AWESOME!!! You do have to be very careful not to breath in or ingest the dust because it tastes horrible, but that's why it works so well! Highly recommended!!!

It actually works!
I have fought deer for years with stinky sprays, little tie on bags, netting, fencing, and anything else that was on the market. This actually works. It smells awful and sometimes the fumes gets into your mouth when you open the can which will quickly tell you why deer avoid it.

Tastes Awful And Works
I think these tablets really work for a couple of good reasons: 1) No matter how careful you are (and I was), you are bound to get a whiff of these tablets between opening the resealable plastic bag and placing them in the ground around your plants. I did, so will be wearing a mask next time (if I can still find any). Some of the invisible “drift” from these tablets evidently made it to my mouth and nose (twice) and it is by far, and as advertised, the most bitter taste I have ever encountered. The taste lasts for hours and flushing with water helps very little if at all. 2) I have more flowers and flower buds on my 3 winter blooming camellias than I have ever had before since planting them 6 or 7 seasons ago. 3) I didn't net or spray my Hilda Niblet azaleas this winter and they were NOT eaten down to a nubbin by our local deer. I'll be anxious to see if any new spring growth is attacked. I'm thinking not. Likewise my daylilies, whose leaves are just now peeking through. (I will endeavor to update this later). 4) Since moving to SC 10 years ago, this is our first encounter with armadillo. We had several bad experiences with them in FL. In filling 3 of their large freshly dug holes here recently, I got the bright idea to crush up several of these tablets to mix in with the dirt as I refilled these armadillo holes. The armadillo never returned to re-dig any of them which is unusual because in Florida before discovering Plantsavers, it was a constant battle, filling and re-filling and re-filling again these same exact holes over and over again until I finally trapped the culprits and permanently rid ourselves of the menace. 5) I know there have been comments about expense, but in my experience, all of the deer repellents I have purchased previously have been expensive and also required repeated re-application to remain effective, so were used up more quickly. If these tablets indeed last 18 months as advertised they will end up being the least expensive and most effective repellent I have used thus far.3/21/24 Update: I now believe, given my "taste" comments in my original comments, that plants don't like the taste either. I think I have noticed that plants that have been repeatedly treated have had their growth stunted, but it works great as an armadillo and chipmunk repellent when crushed, mixed with water and sprayed down their numerous holes dug around the house.

effective product against vole damage to plant roots
We have ordered and used this product for several seasons to protect our shrubs from vole damage. They eat the roots of plants which causes severe damage to plants, shrubs and even trees. We insert the PlantSaver tablets into the ground close to the plant's roots. When damage was severe, I used a few over the recommended number and watered consistently. Plants absorb this systemically which gives the roots a bitter taste. Voles avoid the plants protected with theses tablets. Be careful handling is product. It has a very potent (and lingering) odor. I just wear a mask and use plastic gloves. I would recommend this product.

So far, it's great!
Deer, elk, rabbits, voles, gophers (also coyotes, bears, mountain lions and bobcats; they aren't the problem - but not nearly as much help as expected, either). Can't help myself, though - still love to garden. Even with every plant selected from the critter "resistant" lists, my efforts have been frustrating. Decided to try Natura this spring. Followed the instructions meticulously and sprayed new plants with a strong minty product and buried Natura in the soil. Now ,late September, my plantings look great!! I am still only selecting from the "resistant" lists, but this year's results have been waaayy more successful than last year's. Don't know what winter's ravages will be (all those creatures will be hungrier) but at this point, I'm sold!

You won’t be sorry you purchased it
This is an amazing product. Guess which plant I forgot to put a plant saver in with when I planted it? Neighbors are all asking what I am using. Had to actually buy a second bottle after giving out samples. Deer have taken bites out of my hibiscus but always walk away after the first bite. Just be careful when opening the jar. Use gloves and don’t breath the dust

Natural Works!
The dear seem to dislike the taste of the hosta. The product is working. I hope that it does last for 18 months as claimed.
