I never thought this would be so good. I ordered for an old book but this in no way shows that it is old. The book is as good as new with not even a mere scratch. The packing was excellent as always. Love shopping books at Amazon.As regards to the book, it was probably the best book on the sufferings of shell shock victims I've ever read. A must read for everyone who thinks they ought to know how cruel the war had been. I laughed, I smiled, I cried and I marvelled at this piece of work by Barker.The book simply left me speechless. I just loved it. I can't say anymore, really.♥

Beautifully and sensitively written. One forgets how shell shock was construed as cowardice then.Also, I loved the character of Rivers.A whole generation of youth was brutally massacred.The book shows how war can kill the human spirit along with killing the human being.
